SHORT BIO Born in Daliat al-carmel (1977), graduate of the Hebrew Reali School of Haifa (1995), dualmajor B.A. in Statistics and Israel Studies (2002), MA in Israel Studies (Cum Laude, 2006) and PhD in Israel Studies and the School of Political Science (2013), the University of Haifa. I m a political scientist and historian of modern Israel. My doctoral dissertation, which was on the crossroad between local government studies and Israel studies, examined the relative impact of the internal and external causes of the financial decline of Arab municipalities in Israel. My research interests include history of modern Israel, Israeli politics, Middle-Eastern politics, ethnic politics, urban affairs and local governments, and public opinion. In 2014-2016 I held a two-year fellowship for outstanding post-doctoral researchers from the Council for Higher Education in Israel, during which I was a Taub-Schusterman postdoctoral research fellow with the New York University (USA) in 2014-2015, and was a Fritz Thyssen postdoctoral research fellowship with the Zentrum Moderner Orient (GERMANY) during 2015-2016. I taught at the Open University of Israel, at the New York University, and at the Kinneret College. My teaching interests include: "Politics and Government in Israel", "The Palestinian-Israeli Conflict", "The Arab-Palestinian Society in Israel", "Comparative Politics", "The Origins of Zionism and the Establishment of Israel", "The Historian's Research Tools", "Research Methods in Political Sciences", and "Introduction to Statistics". I ve published articles in high-ranked journals. My latest book focused on the Israeli policies implemented towards the Arabs in Israel in regard to the recruitment to the IDF during the first decade of Israel: Battalion of Arab- The History of the Minorities' Unit in the IDF from 1948 to 1956.
