Order of Worship July 27, 2014 CALL TO WORSHIP from Psalm 150 LEADER: Praise the LORD! Praise God in his sanctuary; PEOPLE: Praise him in his mighty heavens! LEADER: Praise him for his mighty deeds; PEOPLE: Praise him according to his excellent greatness! LEADER: Praise him with trumpet sound; praise him with lute and harp! PEOPLE: Praise him with tambourine and dance; praise him with strings and pipe! LEADER: Praise him with sounding cymbals; praise him with loud clashing cymbals! PEOPLE: Let everything that has breath praise the LORD! ALL: (with a loud voice) Praise the LORD! SONGS OF PRAISE ALL CREATURES OF OUR GOD AND KING All creatures of our God and King Lift up your voice and with us sing Hallelujah hallelujah Thou burning sun with golden beam Thou silver moon with softer gleam continued 2

Thou rushing wind that art so strong Ye clouds that sail in heaven along O praise Him hallelujah Thou rising morn in praise rejoice Ye lights of evening find a voice And all ye ones of tender heart Forgiving others take your part O sing ye hallelujah Ye who long pain and sorrow bear Praise God and on Him cast your care Let all things their Creator bless And worship Him in humbleness O praise Him hallelujah Praise praise the Father praise the Son And praise the Spirit three in One GARMENTS OF PRAISE Put on the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness Let the oil of gladness flow down from Your throne. Put on the garments of praise for the spirit of heaviness Your joy is my strength alone, my strength alone. (repeat) Make these broken, weary bones rise to dance again. Wet this dry and thirsty land with a river. Lord our eyes are fixed on You and we are waiting For your garland of grace as we praise Your Name. Hallelujah, sing hallelujah we give all honor and praise to Your Name Hallelujah, sing hallelujah we trade our sorrows for garments of praise. Wee Ones Children are a blessing to the Redeemer family! JaiLynne Wood Communications Gray Morgan Children Tiffany Koch Youth Jim Belton Elders Todd Christian John De La Cruz Deacons Kent McKerihan, chairman Jim Belton Joel Freeman Chris Jarvis Tyler Martin Paul Pepin Thomas Szymanski Robert Wood LION OF JUDAH You re the Lion of Judah, the Lamb Who was slain. You ascended to Heaven and evermore will reign. At the end of the age when the earth You reclaim, You will gather the nations before You. And the eyes of all men will be fixed on the Lamb who was crucified. With wisdom and mercy and justice You ll reign at Your Father s side. And the angels will cry, Hail the Lamb. Who was slain for the world, rule in power. And the earth will reply, You shall reign As the King of all kings and the Lord of all lords. There s a shield in our hand and a sword at our side. There s a fire in our spirits that cannot be denied; Cause the Father has told us, for these You have died, for the nations who gather before You. And the ears of all men need to hear of the Lamb Who was crucified; Who descended to hell, yet was raised up to reign at His Father s side. (chorus) PRAYER OF CONFESSION from Psalm 25, A psalm of David O LORD, I give my life to you. I trust in you, my God! Show me the right path, O LORD; point out the road for me to follow. Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you. Remember, O LORD, your compassion and unfailing love, which you have shown from long ages past. Do not remember the rebellious sins of my youth. Remember me in the light of your unfailing love, for you are merciful, O LORD. The LORD is good and does what is right; he shows the proper path to those who go astray. He leads the humble in doing right, teaching them his way. The LORD leads with unfailing love 4

and faithfulness all who keep his covenant and obey his demands. For the honor of your name, O LORD, forgive my many, many sins. IN CHRIST ALONE In Christ alone, my hope is found. He is my light, my strength, my song. This Cornerstone, this solid ground, Firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, When fears are stilled, when strivings cease. My Comforter, my All in all, Here in the love of Christ I stand. In Christ alone who took on flesh, Fullness of God in helpless babe. This gift of love and righteousness, Scorned by the ones He came to save. Til on that cross as Jesus died, The wrath of God was satisfied. For ev ry sin on Him was laid, Here in the death of Christ I live. There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain. Then bursting forth in glorious day, Up from the grave He rose again. And as He stands in victory, Sin s curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His and He is mine Bought with the precious blood of Christ. No guilt in life, no fear in death, This is the pow r of Christ in me. From life s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No pow r of hell, no scheme of man, Can ever pluck me from His hand. Til He returns or calls me home, Here in the pow r of Christ I ll stand. OFFERTORY Parents, if you d like for your children (ages 3-7) to participate in Children s Church, please dismiss them after the offering has been collected. INTERCESSORY PRAYER see sidebar for information about this week s missionary 5 Where in the World Our missionary Sherry Bohn works with Entrust, an organization that assists churches in responding to the global cry for servantleaders through accessible, transformational, Biblical training. We at Redeemer use the Entrust method to train our teachers. Sherry has helped write and revise curriculum for women that includes facilitator training, child rearing, and methods for Bible study and women s ministering to women. She teaches these and other courses to women throughout the world. She s working on teaching curriculum tailored for training children, also. Praise that women across Eastern Europe have gained a deeper knowledge of the Word and can confidently speak from it and teach its truths; they attribute this ability to Entrust training. Pray that God grants them wisdom and Biblical discernment as they seek to make this training available in many cultural contexts, as Entrust will be revising its facilitator training soon. Send Sherry an email to encourage her at sbohn@entrust4.org.

ALL I HAVE IS CHRIST I once was lost in darkest night Yet thought I knew the way The sin that promised joy and life Had led me to the grave I had no hope that You would own A rebel to Your will And if You had not loved me first I would refuse You still But as I ran my hell-bound race Indifferent to the cost You looked upon my helpless state And led me to the cross And I beheld God's love displayed You suffered in my place You bore the wrath reserved for me Now all I know is grace Hallelujah all I have is Christ Hallelujah Jesus is my life Now Lord I would be Yours alone And live so all might see The strength to follow Your commands Could never come from me O Father use my ransomed life In any way You choose And let my song forever be My only boast is You (chorus) BENEDICTION Wentworth Parking Show your bulletin on Sunday mornings for free parking in the garage at 69 Wentworth Street.
