From the IOPPOA President Hello Neighbors, This will be our last newsletter of 2017. I want to begin by thanking our outstanding Team of board members for an incredible year of hard work and dedication to our community, as well as all the wonderful people who volunteered. You are all what makes this neighborhood so unique and special. Myself and our community appreciate all of your time. Further discussions of an increase is dues to supplement fundraisers and future improvements to our community will be discussed at our board meeting the first Tuesday in December. We have our 3rd annual chili cook off kick off membership drive coming up in January. This was really a fun event and should be more exciting this time around. All are welcome to attend. Come meet your neighbors, enter your chili in the contest, enjoy some chili and get a discounted membership. More details in this newsletter. November Board Meeting Minutes Date: 11/7/2017 Start time: 7:05 pm October minutes were accepted and seconded with no opposition. Treasurer s report was read and approved. No opposition. Discussion of Old Business: SORA will clear the weeds inside or swim area in gratitude for the IOP allowing them to use our park. Tim and Tammy will host the Christmas party this year with an agreed budget of $1000. We need VOLUNTEERS to help set up and clean up. Please bring a side dish or a dessert. The party will be held on 12/10 starting at 5pm. Final plans and details for Christmas party will be sent to members via email and newsletter. New Business The IOP has 2 trees that are either dead or leaning in a dangerous direction. An effort is needed to clear the trees. Terry will head the effort to gather quotes. After further discussion pertaining to the distribution of the newsletter, a motion was made by Al to cut the newsletter back to 8 or less issues. The issues will be limited to 8 pages driven by community events. Motion was seconded and passed with no opposition. Discussions are still on going with cutting the cost of the newsletter. Discussion included changing the distribution method and the number of newsletters per year. Upcoming IOP Events Christmas Party 12/10 5pm Chili Cook Off/Membership Drive 1/13 4-9pm NOTE: Private Park rental functions may be viewed at www.isleofpines.org Park Rental Information: If you are member of the IOPPA then you may rent the South Beach Park. How do you go about that? Check out the website www.isleofpines.org and look under the Community Calendar to see if the date is available. If it is, download the Park Rental Application (Under Community Stuff). E-mail Jesse Dance at flyfshermn82@gmail.com and let him know that you want to reserve the park. Next, make arrangements to get the paperwork and your $75 deposit check to Jesse. The park isn t considered rented until the check and paperwork have been received. Pick up the Private Function sign from Jesse on the day of your party. After the function if all is in order then your check will be returned to you. REMEMBER: All garbage MUST be bagged and removed from the park. Park Rules are also located on the IOPPA website and should be reviewed before your function. Other members may still use the park and facilities. IOP Movie Night at the Park Join us in watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas Friday, December 8th at 7:00 pm The festivities will be held at the Isle of Pines Park. We will have popcorn, nachos, soda and candy. Feel free to bring blankets and chairs.
