So, in keeping with tradition, I extend my thanks to: The Consistory - I thank each of you for your commitment to SBRC and your dedication to it s members. I thank each of you for your continued work! The Choirs - SBRC is truly blessed by all of the choirs! Your voices encourage us, embrace us and lift us up in worship. I thank you for sharing your talents and gifts. The Sunday School - I thank you for your dedication to our children. It is because of your efforts that our children know of the love that God has for them. The Property Committee - So often the work of this committee is done in the background with little recognition. A number of projects have been completed to maintain and improve the grounds of SBRC. Many thanks to you for the countless hours you have given this past year. Church Dinners - I wanted to thank all who are involved with the six dinners that SBRC holds throughout the year! I offer my sincere thanks to the time, energy and effort each of you put into making these dinners a success Bible Study & Book Club - Many thanks to each of the participants in these fellowship activities. It has been a true pleasure to read, learn and grow with each of you and I am looking forward to our continued study together! Women s Group - Just a word of thanks for the wonderful work that you are doing in the area of mission. From collecting canceled stamps to bringing gifts to nursing homes, your impact is being felt far and wide along with the love we extend in Jesus name. The Congregation - There is not enough space to thank you personally, but know that each of you play an important role in the life SBRC. I thank you for your continued support of SBRC as we seek to do the ministry of Jesus Christ within our community. Hope you all have a wonderful summer! Remember that the church is open all summer!

PAGE 2 CONTACT Note from the Treasurer... May 2017 The offering receipts for May were $7,300 (1,825 average). We require $2,302 to insure we make the budget as written. There were no extraordinary expenses this month so we ended May $1,056 in the black. As summer approaches, attendance historically drops as vacations begin. But the church continues to receive bills including several large quarterly payments due in June. Please keep those pledges coming in so we can remain in the black. ~ Robyn Friedlander Book Club The Book Club decided to keep reading and meeting throughout the Summer. July s book will be Gwendy s Button Box by Richard Chizmar & Stephen King and we will meet on Sunday, July 30th at 7:00pm at Kirsten Stockman s home. August s book will be The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith and we will meet on Sunday, August 27th at 7:00pm - Location TBD. Grab a copy and join us!! Women s Group All women in the church are invited to brainstorm ideas July 9th during coffee hour for possible fundraisers for the upcoming year. Let s try to think up something manageable, but fresh and inviting. Women who may not think they are part of the Women's Group are welcomed too. While discussing people's fundraiser thoughts, we can also clip stamps to raise funds for Spanish Sunday School materials. This past month, the coins collected outside the sanctuary for River Blindness totaled $28. Thank you for your continued thoughtfulness (bringing in stamps) and generosity (coins for River Blindness). May God bless our ideas and contributions to serve His purpose. ~ Lynne Diehl

Flowers Just a reminder that if you have signed up for flowers in the Sanctuary on a particular Sunday, the cost is $40.00. Make checks out to SBRC with Flowers in the memo section. CONTACT Greeters & Coffee Hour Opportunities to Greet on Sunday and/or host Coffee Hour are still available! Please sign-up and help keep this important fellowship activity going strong! Food Bank Just a reminder that SBRC will continue to collect food throughout the summer months for the Hillsborough Food Bank. All donations are greatly accepted and appreciated. CONTACT PAGE 5 Church Dinners The Church Dinners are certainly a wonderful source of fellowship and fun for all involved whether you help out at the dinner, come for a great meal or do both. It is certainly something we all enjoy and don t want to see end. However, we have a great need when it comes to our dinners! For the past couple of dinners, the people that come to help prepare on Saturday morning has dwindled drastically to two or three people. This puts additional unneeded pressure on Tyson, our Chef, and those few who do show up to help. So, if you are able to assist in the kitchen on the morning of our dinners, Tyson would certainly love to hear from you. Please speak with him for more information or if you have any questions! As a reminder, SBRC will host three more dinners in 2017. Those dinners are: September 16 Ham Dinner October 14 November 4 Chicken Cordon Bleu Roast Beef Dinner Thank you for your continued support and energy in providing these wonderful meals to our family and friends of SBRC. Celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism South Branch Reformed Church welcomed the following children into the visible membership of the Church as they received the Sacrament of Baptism: Sunday, June 25th, Harper Rose Siegle, daughter of Dawn and Mark Siegle. Sunday, July 9th, Noelle Aishling Sarles, daughter of Christina and Jonathan Sarles. Sunday, August 20, Emilia Beth McConnell daughter of Vicki McConnell. We pray that God s blessings and protection will be with them always.
