PRESENTATION OF CHRIST GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH WWW.YPAPANTI.NET CURRENT SEPTEMBER 2018

Dear Presentation of Christ Family, Congratulations and thank you for yet another successful Greek Festival! As we wind down from East Pittsburgh Greek Fest, we are winding up for the new Church Year, beginning on September first. Once again, we embark upon the cycle of the Great Feasts, the Fasts, our service to our neighbors and each other, and our fellowship in Christ. Just as January first brings opportunities to make resolutions in our secular lives, the New Church Year gives us the opportunity to make resolutions that will benefit us spiritually. In the new Church Year we are all invited to set personal spiritual goals for ourselves and our families. First and foremost let us all resolve to come to Divine together on Sundays at 9:30 and immerse ourselves in the Sacramental life of the Church. There are numerous opportunities in the year ahead to increase our knowledge of our faith. Church School resumes on September ninth, and our Paraklesis and Adult Education classes continue on Wednesday evenings. We also have Christmas and Lenten Family Retreats planned with guest speakers and community projects. Many of us may be aware of our cooperation with FOCUS Pittsburgh s feeding program. Beginning this September, our Outreach Ministry has been expanded to include a collaboration with the Rankin Christian Center. Join us twice a month as we come together to feed our neighbors in need and be the Light of Christ in East Pittsburgh. A new year is upon us, and we are all invited to resolve to commit ourselves and one another and our whole life unto Christ our God. See you at Church! FRDK

Thanks to everyone who helped make this year s Food Festival a success. When something matters so much to you that you are willing to work in order to see it succeed, that is passion! It might come with pain and sacrifice, and it almost always comes with hard work, but it never comes without joy and a sense of accomplishment! Passion breeds commitment, enthusiasm, and effort willingness to go the extra mile for our Ypapanti. The passionate belief of everyone at the festival is the difference between success and failure. Thank You! Steve Markantone Parish Council President
