In the passage from this week s gospel Jesus asks Who do people say I am? It s a question we can ask ourselves: Are we thinking as God does or as human beings do? Are we taking up our cross to follow Jesus? With the help of a faith community, we can help each other with these challenges and continue to transform our lives as disciples. Is there someone you know who is seeking this transformation or expressed the desire to know Jesus through the Catholic faith? Let your relative or your friend know our parish RCIA team is ready to help! Encourage him or her to call the Parish Office at 908-647-1075 to be put in touch with a member of the RCIA team. http://olmwarren.org/rite-of-christian-initiation-ofadults Ministers of the Week - September 23 5:00 PM 8:00 AM 10:00 AM 11:30 AM Msgr. Please Join Our Lady of the Mount Weekend Prayer Vigil for the Women on Retreat Friday evening September 21, beginning at 6:00 PM until September 23, at Noon The state of Kerala, India, which has the largest Christian population in the nation, has recently been devastated by the most extreme flash flooding and landslides in nearly a century. According to reports provided by Catholic Relief Services (CRS) which is actively working on site with the relief efforts, hundreds of people are dead and about 1,000,000 people have been displaced by the catastrophic flooding. These displaced people are in desperate need of food, clothing, potable water, medicine, and shelter. Next weekend, September 22 and 23, we will be participating in a diocesan second collection to assist in the relief efforts. We encourage your generosity to this collection. Those who wish to donate to the relief efforts online can go to the diocesan website https://diometuchen.org/ways-to-give and follow the link for Kerala Flood Relief. Thank you for your assistance to our suffering brothers and sisters devastated by this historic flooding. If you are not going on the September 21 Retreat Select one hour during the weekend to offer prayer. There can be more than one person praying at the same hour. Call or email Anna Murphy to let her know what hour you have selected to pray. Your name will be entered on a poster noting the hour you are praying. The poster will hang at the Retreat House conference room where Retreatants will see all of the women at home offering prayer just for them. Thank you for the gift of your prayer! The Women to Women Ministry Team Anna Murphy 1-732-271-9283 or ammurphy@optonline.net Stewardship Reflections Whoever wishes to come after me must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. -MARK 8:34 When we truly believe that all we have is a gift from God, then we must be willing to give up some things so that we can share our blessings as God intended. Living a stewardship lifestyle means not only being responsible for our own life, but the lives of others as well.
