TRINITY UNITED CHURCH Twenty Second Sunday after Pentecost - 2:00 p.m. Trinity United Church extends a warm welcome to everyone. Please be advised that the service is being video taped for viewing on COGECO (channel 10), Thursday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. *Stand as you are able Bold print = Congregation Prelude Gathering Life and Ministry of the Congregation Welcome to Trinity United Church Introit: The Lord is in His Holy Temple (Anderson) *Call to Worship: One: In every place, in every moment, God is present. All: Let us open our whole beings to the Spirit of the living God among us. One: In this place, at this moment, we celebrate God s love among us as we mark a new beginning in ministry. All: We come in a spirit of covenant, to make promises to one another and to God. One: Let us celebrate this covenant of ministry with joy and praise! *Hymn: Let us Build (page 1 in More Voices) (insert) *Prayer of Approach: God of all of the seasons of our lives, of our endings and of our beginnings, we gather in your presence as a people in transition. We come from many places. There are those who feel grief at the endings they have experienced. There are those who feel uncertain about life in-between times. There are those excited and challenged by what a new future for this congregation might hold. We gather to offer our intentions, our hopes, our gifts, and our promises to you and to one another. May your Spirit inspire our worship, and our living. Amen. Welcome and Announcements Service of the Word Readings: Isaiah 43:18-21 (page 586 in Pew Bibles) Romans 12:1-13 (page 922-923 in Pew Bibles) Mark 2: 18-22 (page 814 in Pew Bibles) Ministry of Music: Come Follow Me (Albrecht/Althouse) Sermon: Celebration, Renewal, Transition *Hymn No. 703: In the Bulb There Is a Flower *Renewal of Baptismal Faith: Let us stand and join in a statement of our common faith A New Creed We are not alone, we live in God s world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God s presence,

to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God. (page 918 in voices United) (CCLI 3273096) Presentation We are gathered here in the presence of God to celebrate a new ministry and to covenant together for the service of God in this place. Interim Ministry Transition Team Co-Chairpersons: We present the Rev. Arlyce Schiebout, who has been appointed to serve with us here in Interim Ministry. We invite you to affirm her appointment to a ministry of Word, Sacrament, and Pastoral Care in this place. Rev. Arlyce, you are here by the action of Four Rivers Presbytery and the Bay of Quinte Conference. We come together to mark a new relationship between you, the Presbytery and this Pastoral Charge.
