Professional Development Did our hearts not burn within us Luke 24:32

... are we there yet? the journey to Emmaus Luke 24:13-35 2

Something which has existed since the beginning, that we have heard, and we have seen with our own eyes: that we have watched and touched with our hands: the Word, who is life - this is our subject. That life was made visible: we saw it and we are giving our testimony, telling you of the eternal life which was with the Father and has been made visible to us. What we have seen and heard we are telling you so that you too may be in union with us, as we are in union with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. We are writing this to you to make our own joy complete. 1 John 1:1-4 3

So, what was it like at your place this morning? 4

The Forgiving Father Luke 15: 11-32 7

My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think that I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you. And I hope I have that desire in all that I am doing. I hope that I will never do anything apart from that desire. And I know that if I do this you will lead me by the right road, though I may know nothing about it. Therefore will I trust you always though I may seem to be lost and in the shadow of death. I will not fear, for you are ever with me, and you will never leave me to face my perils alone. + + + THOMAS MERTON ~ Thoughts in Solitude 8
