Knight Brothers: As the Columbian year is quickly coming to a close we still have a lot to accomplish before the year is complete. Starting on May 11, the Chapter is holding Chaplains night at St. Lawrence Council in Sayville. It is a time to celebrate how much we depend on our Chaplains. Repast starts at 7:00 PM with the meeting starting at 8:00PM. A small token of our appreciation will be given to each Chaplain. Our elections will be held at Bishop John R. McGann Council, Bay Shore on May 16. Repast at 7:00PM with the meeting starting sharply at 8:00 PM. A copy of Officers running for office for the 2018-19 Columbian year are attached for your information. However any member in good standing may run off the floor. A valid 3 rd and 4 th Degree Card are required to vote. Following our meeting, on Sunday, May 20 we will hold a Rosary starting at 10:00 AM followed by 11:30 Mass at The Shrine of Our Lady of the Island, 258 Eastport-Manor Road, Manorville. We are praying for good weather so Mass can be held outside under the statue of Mary and Child. On May 26 all members are requested to meet us at Long Island National Cemetery to place flags on deceased Military. The gates will open at 6:00AM and once again we will try to do Sections O and P. However no section is guaranteed. Following the placement of flags we will have a living Rosary and taps played at the soldier who received the Congressional Medal of Honor. Breakfast will follow at Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Council, Dix Hills. Other functions coming up through the close of this Columbian year include our Ben Barbera Fund to be held at our June meeting, 50/50 tickets for Donald J. Burns Council and finally on the first Saturday of each month we request members to help at 9:00am at Stony Brook and or 1:00PM Northport VA Hospital bringing Veterans to their meeting and playing Bingo where all win. Finally, I would like to wish all Mothers and your significant other a Happy Mother s Day. Fraternally yours, Vivat Jesus Calendar of Upcoming Meetings 5-16 Bishop John R.
