Bed, Bethlehem, and Beyond When Heaven Touches Earth Sunday, December 24, 2017

Welcome Opening Prayer Narrator Act I BED Room in the Inn Scene 1: Meet the Innkeeper Scene 2: Pillow Talk (Tune: Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star) Now I lay me down to sleep A pillow soft my head to keep My Father watches over me Sleeping here so tenderly. Now I lay me down to sleep A pillow soft my head to keep. O Little Town of Bethlehem Pastor Diane Christopher O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie! Above thy deep and dreamless sleep, The silent stars go by. Yet in thy dark street shineth, the everlasting light; The hope and fears of all the years, Are met in thee tonight.

Narrator Act 2: BETHLEHEM.Manger Scene 1: Innkeeper, Mary and Joseph Away in a Manger Away in a manger No crib for a bed The little Lord Jesus Lay down his sweet head The stars in the sky Look down where he lay The little Lord Jesus Asleep on the hay. Narrator Scene 2: Angels Aware Angels We Have Heard On High Angels we have heard on high Sweetly singing o'er the plains And the mountains in reply Echoing their joyous strains. Gloria, in excelsis Deo; Gloria, in excelsis Deo.

Scene 3: Shepherd Pie While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks While shepherds watched their flocks by night, all seated on the ground, an angel of the Lord came down, and glory shone around. Scene 4: Wise Men Still Seek Him We Three Kings of Orient Are We three kings of Orient are Bearing gifts, we traverse afar Field and fountain Moor and mountain Following yonder star. O star of wonder, star of night Star with royal beauty bright; Westward leading, still proceeding, Guide us to thy perfect light! Narrator Act 3: BEYOND!...When Heaven Touched Earth Scene 1: Innkeeper

Scene 2: Beyond Eternity A View From Heaven Silent Night, Holy Night Silent night! Holy night! All is calm, all is bright Round yon virgin mother and child! Holy infant, so tender and mild, sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace. Scene 3: Beyond All Names What Child is This? What Child is this, who, laid to rest, On Mary's lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, While shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ, the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing: Haste, haste to bring Him laud, The Babe, the Son of Mary! Benediction

Hymn Joy to the World Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King! Let ev'ry heart prepare Him room, and heav'n and nature sing, and heav'n and nature sing, and heav'n, and heav'n and nature sing. Joy to the earth, the Savior reigns! Let men their songs employ, while fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy, repeat, repeat the sounding joy. No more let sins and sorrows grow, nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow far as the curse is found, far as the curse is found, far as, far as the curse is found. He rules the world with truth and grace, and makes the nations prove the glories of His righteousness and wonders of His love, and wonders of His love, and wonders, wonders of His love.

Worship Services Sundays in the Sanctuary 9:30 a.m. Traditional Service* *(followed by refreshments in Fellowship Hall) Wednesdays in the Spiritual Life Center 5:00 p.m. The Source - creative and varying styles of worship La Joya at La Posada 1st, 3rd, and 5th Sundays at 9:00 a.m. Merry Christmas! Please join us in Fellowship Hall following the pageant for cookies and cocoa. Thank you to all who gave of their time during this busy season to gather supplies, work on props and backgrounds, bake cookies and more. We could not have done this without you. Thanks, too, for those in the audience who volunteered to be part of this production at the latest minute. You added much to this fun production. God Bless You All! A Shepherd s Poem By Joslyn Stein We lived in a village a long time ago. Wished for a land where people can go. We see angels fly around announcing his birth, and their wings give a shine on earth. Now is the time where we go and see, where baby Jesus could be. We go and go as far as we can, searching for other helping hands in this land. The stories are real, just open up your eyes, and believe in the man above who spies. Bye-bye now, we have to go, to spread the word to all we know.
