The St. James Mission Endowment Fund is inviting applications for a mission project that might extend the benefits of Christ s Kingdom here in our own area. The grant is for $500, the result of interest income off of our own Mission Endowment fund! Please write a brief letter explaining what the project is, who will oversee it, how the project s impact will be assessed and when the project is hoped to be completed. Letters should be addressed to the St. James Church Council. Please have applications in by the end of October. UPCOMING EVENTS AT ST. JAMES Bible Study, Beverage & Burrito Pastor Kevin is leading a Bible Study at Chapala s Mexican Restaurant in the Walmart shopping center here in Red Bank, continuing on Thursday, October 13 th at 7PM. The first 3 sessions will be The Bible: An Owner s Guide. The first session will be on the book we call the Bible how did we get it and what sort of Bible might be best for you. All are welcome! 2

Where: St. James N E Age Room (Parlor) When: Tuesday, October 18th at 12:00PM All are welcome and invited to join us! Christmas Cantata rehearsals continue this Sunday evening, Oct. 16 th at 6:00 PM. "Go Sing It on the Mountain" is a cantata mix of mountain melodies, folk hymns, spirituals, and familiar carols. We GO SING IT ON THE MOUNTAIN invite you to share in the surprise and delight as we begin to learn the nine musical pieces of this cantata. Mark your calendars now for the presentation of this musical work on Sunday, December 4th at the regular 10:30 worship service. 3

The Book Fair will be here at St. James on Sunday, October 23rd and 30th! Please pick up a brochure in the Narthex this Sunday to take a look at titles being offered! There are Bibles, picture books, DVD's, devotionals, and activity books available for purchase. All titles are 25% off, but the Christmas titles are listed at 40% off the original price! Some of the books will be on display the 23rd and the 30th for you to view. Orders are open to anyone, whether or not you are a member here at St. James. Remember, shipping is free and there is no tax on any order you place. Checks need to be made payable to St. James. Family Life will be sponsoring trunk or treat again this year. It will be held on Saturday Oct 29 th from 5PM til 7PM. please come and support St. James and the community. All candy donations will be graciously accepted and may be left in the Narthex. 4
