Report from the ISM In-Depth Bible Study: In May, two of our international students, Danny Pan and Tianzhao (Jonathan) Wu, attended the International Student Ministries, Inc. In-Depth Bible Seminar for International Students in St. Louis. This week-long conference provides students with an overview of the Bible, a study of Lutheran doctrine, and training and growth in small group ministry. Both Danny and Tianzhao reported to have had a wonderful week, and Tianzhao wrote the following about his experience: I am grateful for the chance to attend the In-Depth Bible Study at St. Louis and greatly enjoyed the fellowship with other students and visiting scholars from Brazil, South Korea, and China. During the retreat, I got deeply touched by the amazing power of God how he brought all those people to the conference from different circumstances and clarified my understanding of God s original plan for all human beings. With the five days teaching, I got aware the love and patient of God throughout the history of Israel people and also the history of all human beings. At the beginning, the God created the heaven and earth, and assigned human beings to manage his creatures on earth, so that the human beings shall live under God as maker and owner and serve the Lord by serving one another in community. Although the human beings are unfaithful to God and depart from him, the Lord is patient and continuously loves us. Meanwhile, the amazing power of God calling his people back to himself also greatly impressed me. In the conference, there were professors, lawyers, PH.D candidates, full time housewife, teachers, college students, and recently graduate students. Though different responsibilities are in our journeys, the Lord paves the road for us to hear his word. Even the barrier of languages was surpassed with the continuous help from the Holy Spirit and with those warm hearted neighbors. Even myself, the way I arriving to the conference is with the help from sister and brother in Christ, Nancy Maylath and Toby Schmidt. I would like to praise to the Lord for his faithfulness and great patient on my disobedience. I deeply hope that more and more people will get to know the Lord and willing to be delivered by him from the death to the eternal life. (Tianzhao (Jonathan) Wu) 1

David received his Master s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue this past May and will be moving to Cape Canaveral, Florida in August where he has accepted a job with SpaceX. David s confirmation verse is John 8:31-32: So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. We pray that the Holy Spirit would keep David firm in Jesus as he embarks on his future plans.
