KMS Aliyah Card Refresh Project 2017 1 KMS Aliya Card Refresh Initiative 2017 Our community has grown over the past few years and the ritual committee plans to generate new Aliya cards in early 2017 for all Full and Associate Male members based on the membership data in Shul Cloud. This is the first time we will be generating Aliya cards from Shul Cloud and we need your help to make sure we have complete membership data We are asking all members to update their family name information in ShulCloud by January 15 to ensure we can generate complete Aliyah Cards. Aliya Card Format The format for the Aliyah Cards will look like this: Data Field Male Member English Name Tribe Male Member Full Hebrew Name Wife s English Name Wife s Hebrew Name Husband s Father and Wife s Father (FIL) Full Hebrew Name Husband s Mother and Wife s Mother (MIL) Hebrew Names Hebrew names of all children including sons and daughters in law Note Kohen, Levi, Yisroel (Selected in Shul Cloud) Hebrew Name Ben Father s Hebrew name Simple Hebrew name only. Full hebrew names are helpful to the Gabbaim to facilitate honors in Shul First names only The following pages will provide specific guidelines for how to update your shul cloud membership data.
KMS Aliyah Card Refresh Project 2017 2 How to edit my data in Shul Cloud Once you have logged in to ShulCloud you can update your family information as follows: From the My Account section, scroll down to the Manage People Section. Click on the add New Person to add a new family member Click on Edit link next to each name to access the data for each family member: Note About Adding a New Person When adding a new person, please be sure to select the proper relationship from the drop down menu.
KMS Aliyah Card Refresh Project 2017 3 Hebrew vs Transliterated It would be most helpful if you can provide the names in Hebrew. The ritual committee can provide assistance as needed. Please email Jeff Adler (adlerjl@verizon.net) if you need help with this. Clicking on the alef keyboard icon on the right side of the field will bring up a Hebrew keyboard in a popup for you to type on. It is difficult to add Hebrew letters to existing ones. Best practice is to click clear and then write out the complete name from scratch. Male Member s Name Please enter full Hebrew names for yourself and father (Name ben Father s name), first names only for your mother. Please select the appropriate Tribe (Kohen, Levi, Yisroel). Hebrew Last Name is optional. Female Member s Name Please enter the first names only for you and your mother. Please enter the full Hebrew name for your father (Father s name ben His Father s Name) including TRIBE if he is a Kohen or Levi
KMS Aliyah Card Refresh Project 2017 4 Children s Name Select the appropriate Person Type and gender. Please enter the English and Hebrew names of your children. First and middle Hebrew names for the children are sufficient unless they have a different father s name (e.g., child of divorced/remarried parents) in which case providing the full Hebrew name will be helpful for the gabbaim. Note: By Default, Shul Cloud will autogenerate the Hebrew names of mother and father from the member data. These will show in lighter font.
KMS Aliyah Card Refresh Project 2017 5 Son-in-Law (SIL) Select the correct person type and gender. Please enter the English and full Hebrew names of your SIL. Please add the appropriate TRIBE designation (Kohen or Levi) in Hebrew to the end of the name to assist our gabbaim. You do not have to enter his Mother or Father Hebrew name
KMS Aliyah Card Refresh Project 2017 6 Daughters in Law Select the correct person type and gender. Please enter her full Hebrew name, including Tribe designation (Kohen or Levi) and add her mother s Hebrew name (first only) to Shul Cloud.
