Class Four 7-8-1438H / 3-5-2017 In Surah Aal-Imran [3:19]: "Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam." Islam means Submission. When you submit, there will be peace. Islam is the Religion of Allah which He only accepts as the true Religion, because it is divine. Islam is the Religion of all the Messengers. When you submit to Allah you need to negate everything else which is contrary to what Allah said. (اإليمان باهلل) Recap: Belief in Allah We need to believe that Allah is Perfect in all aspects. When you believe that, you will worship Him. You need to do and say everything in accordance to

what Allah wants. You should pray, fast, even smile just for Allah. We were created to worship Allah. #2 - Belief in the Angels We need to believe in the Angels. = Singular ملك = Plural مالئكة You do not need to see a picture to know about Angels; this is what belief is. There are cartoons of Angels where they depict them like fairies and girls. We need to erase all this from our minds, because these images corrupt your belief. We just need to believe in certain information which Allah told us about the Angels. The Angels are from the Unseen World We cannot see them with our own eyes. Allah made the Angels unseen. Why can't we see Angels? Whatever Allah made unseen, we do not need to see. Allah is the All-Knower. If it was good for us to see Angels, we would have be able to see them. It is a Mercy from Allah that the Angels are hidden from us.

Has any human being seen an Angel? Yes. The Prophets and specifically the Prophet ﷺ - who saw Jibreel (who brings down revelation) twice in his actual form. Most of the time though, the Angels came to him in the form of a human. Allah gave Angels the ability to come in human form. However, if you give them food, they will not eat and drink. The Angels are seen in their true form But can take the form of man They are created from light Our origin is sand, and the origin of Angels is light. Angels were created from light, jinns were created from a smokeless flame of fire, and 'Adam was created from that which you have been told (i.e., sounding clay like the clay of pottery). [Muslim]

They have Wings But again, we cannot make a picture of their wings. The Angels have wings according to the work they perform - some have two, four, hundred, - and the greatest Angel (Jibreel عليه السالم - who was the connecter between the Messengers and Allah) has 600 wings. And he flipped an entire town with just one of his wings. They have bodies and minds Although the Angels are made of light, they have ;أجسام bodies. But their bodies are ;صمد they are solid. We are hollow bodies - we are empty inside and have organs. This is why the Angels are a pure creation - nothing goes in, nothing goes out. They do not eat, drink, nor excrete. The Angels have a mind. They think, but they do not have desires. They never do anything by desire; they only do what Allah commanded them. ﷺ and the Prophet,ﷺ used to give inspiration to the Prophet Once Jibreel did not come for a long time, and the Prophet ﷺ said, as mentioned in the Hadith: ق ال ر س ول ا ه لل صلى هللا عليه وسلم ل ج ب ر يل " م ا ي م ن ع ك أ ن ت ز ور ن ا أ ك ث ر م هما ت ز ور ن ا ف ن ز ل ت }و م ا ن ت ن هزل إ اله ب أ م ر ر ب ك ل ه م ا ب ي ن أ ي د ين ا و م ا خ ل ف ن ا{" The Prophet ﷺ said to Gabriel, "What prevents you from visiting us more often than you visit us now?" So there was revealed:-- 'And we (angels) descend not but by the command of your Lord. To Him belongs what is before us and what is behind us...'(19.64)" [Al-Bukhari]

They have minds. If they do not understand something they will ask. In Surah Al-Baqarah [2:30]: "And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "Verily, I am going to place (mankind) generations after generations on earth." They said: "Will You place therein those who will make mischief therein and shed blood, - while we glorify You with praises and thanks (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners) and sanctify You." He (Allah) said: "I know that which you do not know." They are honoured servants of Allah They worship Allah day and night and do not take a break from it. We have a choice to worship Allah or not. The Angels do not have that choice; worshipping Allah all the time is an inborn quality in them. And because they always worship Allah, they are honoured. So if you choose to worship Allah and be His slave, you will be more honoured and your level will be higher than the Angels. They worship Allah in the night and day

They do not sleep nor take a break. If you notice, the higher a creature is, the less breaks they take. The best of humans are the Messengers, who convey the message to the people during the day and worship during the night. We were created to worship Allah. The Angels are an example for us. Your value is when you work for Allah. You humiliate yourself when you are not a slave of Allah. Allah gave them specific jobs They do what Allah commanded them with They do not become proud They do not get tired They do not get bored All the Angels worship Allah, but each one has a job particular to him. And when they perform the job Allah gave them, they never feel arrogant. When we become experts in our work, we may become arrogant. The Angels are better than all of us in worship, yet they never show arrogance. On the contrary, they are humble and humiliate themselves to Allah. Arrogance is never acceptable; if it is because of your knowledge, there was once a time when you did not know. If it is because of your ability, Allah can bring a million people in your place. If it is because of your prayer, the Angels pray day and night. When you know about the Angels, it changes you. If the Angels are not proud, than how can we?

The Angels never get tired. They are always waiting for the command of Allah. The Angels never get bored, even if they do one job for their entire lives. Some of the Angels and their Jobs Jibreel is entrusted with the revelation He has 600 Wings Jibreel is the head of all the Angels. His job is the revelation; he is the connection between Allah (who is above the seven heavens) and the Messengers on earth. His going up and down is by the command Allah. He never is arrogant, never gets bored, never gets tired. Never think that Allah needs Angels. He can do everything by Himself; but it is an honour for them to be slaves of Allah. If you do not worship Allah, it is bad for you. If you worship Allah, it is good for you. Allah is the Most Rich; Self-Sufficient.

Mik'aeel is entrusted with the rain; the life of the bodies Allah sends down rain, but Allah honoured Mika'eel with assigning him the job of taking care of the rain - where it goes and how much goes down. He does this work without getting arrogant, bored, or tired. Israfeel is one of the bearers of the Throne and the blower of the trumpet When will the trumpet be blown? On the Day of Judgement. The first time he blows, everyone will die. The second time he blows, everyone will be resurrected. How can I feel at ease when the Angel of the Trumpet, (Israfil) has put his lips to the Trumpet and is waiting for the order to blow it". He (ﷺ) perceived as if this had shocked his Companions, so he (ﷺ) told them to seek comfort through reciting: 'Hasbunallah wa ni'mal-wakil [Allah (Alone) is Sufficient for us, and He is the Best Disposer of affairs (for us)]" [At-Tirmithi] There are Angels who carry the throne of Allah, one of which is Israfeel. Again, Allah does not need anyone to carry His Throne; it is an honour for them. The Angel of Death is entrusted with taking the souls

Those dying will see the Angel of Death at the time of death. He is in charge of taking the soul of the human being and will command the soul to come out of its body. Allah did not give these jobs except to Angels. A human doing this job would do it with desire, get tired, etc. Malik is entrusted with Hellfire Malik is the keeper of Hellfire. His appearance is scary, and he frowns. Radwan is the keeper of Paradise Angels entrusted with the Wombs When the baby is 4 months in the stomach, Allah sends an angel to breathe its soul into it.

Angels entrusted with protecting the children of Adam Sometimes you see car crashes and the person comes out alive, a baby falling from a building and coming out unhurt, because Allah assigned Angels to protect human beings. Angels who seek out gatherings of Remembrance of Allah The Prophet ﷺ said: Allah has mobile (squads) of angels, who have no other work (to attend to but) to follow the assemblies of Dhikr and when they find such assemblies in which there is Dhikr (of Allah) they sit in them and some of them surround the others with their wings till the space between them and the sky of the world is fully covered, and when they disperse (after the assembly of Dhikr is adjourned) they go upward to the heaven and Allah, the Exalted and Glorious, asks them although He is best informed about them: Where have you come from? They say: We come from Thine servants upon the earth who had been glorifying Thee (reciting Subhan Allah), uttering Thine Greatness (saying Allah o-akbar) and uttering Thine Oneness (La ilaha ill Allah) and praising Thee (uttering al-hamdu Lillah) and begging of Thee. Be would say: What do they beg of Me? They would say: They beg of Thee the Paradise of Thine. He (God) would say: Have they seen My Paradise? They said: No, our Lord. He would say: (What it would be then) if they were to see Mine Paradise? They (the angels) said: They seek Thine protection. He (the Lord) would say: Against what do they seek protection of Mine? They (the angels) would say: Our Lord, from the Hell-Fire. He (the Lord) would say:

Have they seen My Fire? They would say: No. He (the Lord) would say: What it would be if they were to see My Fire? They would say: They beg of Thee forgiveness. He would say: I grant pardon to them, and confer upon them what they ask for and grant them protection against which they seek protection. They (the angels) would again say: Our Lord, there is one amongst them such and such simple servant who happened to pass by (that assembly) and sat there along with them (who had been participating in that assembly). He (the Lord) would say: I also grant him pardon, for they are a people the seat-fellows of whom are in no way unfortunate. [Muslim] Wherever there is Angels there is tranquility, contrary to places where the Shayateen are. Angels who write down our good and bad deeds The Impact of Believing in the Angels: You would be cautious about your actions. You would clean yourself. The Angels like clean places, smells, people who talk good.
