READ: EZEKIEL 10:1-2 THE GLORY OF GOD DEPARTS FROM THE TEMPLE 1 And I looked, and there in the firmament that was above the head of the cherubim, there appeared something like a sapphire stone, having the appearance of the likeness of a throne. 2 Then He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, "Go in among the wheels, under the cherub, fill your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and scatter them over the city." And he went in as I watched.

READ: GENESIS 3:24 24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life. NKJV

READ: EXODUS 24:9-10 9 Then Moses went up, also Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, 10 and they saw the God of Israel. And there was under His feet as it were a paved work of sapphire stone, and it was like the very heavens in its clarity. NKJV

READ: ISAIAH 6:1-3 1 In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. 2 Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. 3 And one cried to another and said: "Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!" NKJV

And this was their appearance: they had the likeness of a man. NKJV READ: EZEKIEL 1:22 22 The likeness of the firmament above the heads of the living creatures was like the color of an awesome crystal, stretched out over their heads. NKJV

And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, "Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this." 2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:2 2 Then He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, "Go in among the wheels, under the cherub, fill your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and scatter them over the city." And he went in as I watched. WHO WAS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? THE MAN CLOTHED WITH LINEN? WHAT DID THE LORD TELL HIM TO DO? HOW DID EZEKIEL DESCRIBE THESE CREATURES? READ: EZEKIEL 1:13 13 As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches going back and forth among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and out of the fire went lightning. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:2 2 Then He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, "Go in among the wheels, under the cherub, fill your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and scatter them over the city." And he went in as I watched. WHO WAS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? THE MAN CLOTHED WITH LINEN? WHAT DID THE LORD TELL HIM TO DO? HOW DID THE LORD DESTROY SODOM & GOMORRAH? READ: GENESIS 19:24 24 The LORD rained brimstone and fire on Sodom and Gomorrah, from the LORD out of the heavens. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:2 2 Then He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, "Go in among the wheels, under the cherub, fill your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and scatter them over the city." And he went in as I watched. WHO WAS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? THE MAN CLOTHED WITH LINEN? WHAT DID THE LORD TELL HIM TO DO? WHAT DID GOD COMMAND THE LEVITIES? WHY? READ: LEVITICUS 6:12-13 12 And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. 13 A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:2 WHAT DID MOSES COMMAND THE ISRAELITES? WHY? READ: DEUTERONOMY 4:22-24 23 Take heed to yourselves, lest you forget the covenant of the LORD your God which He made with you, and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of anything which the LORD your God has forbidden you. 24 For the LORD your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God. NKJV READ: DEUTERONOMY 9:3 3 Therefore understand today that the LORD your God is He who goes over before you as a consuming fire. He will destroy them and bring them down before you; so you shall drive them out and destroy them quickly, as the LORD has said to you. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:2 WHAT HAPPENED WHEN DAVID CALLED THE LORD? WHY? READ: 2 SAMUEL 22:7-9 7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, And cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, And my cry entered His ears. 8 "Then the earth shook and trembled; The foundations of heaven quaked and were shaken, Because He was angry. 9 Smoke went up from His nostrils, And devouring fire from His mouth; Coals were kindled by it. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:2 2 Then He spoke to the man clothed with linen, and said, "Go in among the wheels, under the cherub, fill your hands with coals of fire from among the cherubim, and scatter them over the city." READ: AMOS 7:4 4 Thus the Lord GOD showed me: Behold, the Lord GOD called for conflict by fire, and it consumed the great deep and devoured the territory. NKJV

And he went in as I watched. WHO WAS THE LORD SPEAKING TO? WHAT DID THE LORD TELL HIM TO DO? IS THERE A MESSAGE FOR US TODAY? READ: HEBREWS 12:28-29 18 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire. NKJV

READ: EZEKIEL 10:3-5 THE GLORY OF GOD DEPARTS FROM THE TEMPLE 3 Now the cherubim were standing on the south side of the temple when the man went in, and the cloud filled the inner court. 4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD S glory. 5 And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even in the outer court, like the voice of Almighty God when He speaks.

WHERE WERE THE CHERUBIM STANDING? HOW DOES EZEKIEL DESCRIBE WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THE MAN CLOTHED IN LINEN WENT IN? WHAT WAS HEARD IN THE OUTER COURT?

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:3 THE GLORY OF GOD DEPARTS FROM THE TEMPLE 3 Now the cherubim were standing on the south side of the temple when the man went in, and the cloud filled the inner court. WHERE WERE THE CHERUBIM STANDING? WHY ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE TEMPLE? WHAT IS ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE TEMPLE? READ: EZEKIEL 8:5 5 Then He said to me, "Son of man, lift your eyes now toward the north." So I lifted my eyes toward the north, and there, north of the altar gate, was this image of jealousy in the entrance. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:4 THE GLORY OF GOD DEPARTS FROM THE TEMPLE 4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD S glory. WHAT DID EZEKIEL SAY HAPPENED IN CHAPTER NINE? READ: EZEKIEL 9:3 3 Now the glory of the God of Israel had gone up from the cherub, where it had been, to the threshold of the temple. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:4 THE GLORY OF GOD DEPARTS FROM THE TEMPLE 4 Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and paused over the threshold of the temple; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD S glory. WHAT HAPPENED ON MOUNT SINAI? WHAT DID THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL SEE? READ: EXODUS 24:16-17 16 Now the glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. And on the seventh day He called to Moses out of the midst of the cloud. 17 The sight of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel. NKJV

READ: GENESIS 17:1 1 When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless. NKJV

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:5 THE GLORY OF GOD DEPARTS FROM THE TEMPLE 5 And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard even in the outer court, like the voice of Almighty God when He speaks. WHAT WAS HEARD IN THE OUTER COURT? WHAT WAS IT LIKENED TO? THE VOICE OF ALMIGHTY GOD WHEN HE SPEAKS? READ: PSALMS 29:3-4 3 The voice of the LORD is over the waters; The God of glory thunders; The LORD is over many waters. 4 The voice of the LORD is powerful; The voice of the LORD is full of majesty. NKJV

WHAT WAS HEARD IN THE OUTER COURT? WHAT WAS IT LIKENED TO? THE VOICE OF ALMIGHTY GOD WHEN HE SPEAKS? WHAT DID EZEKIEL HEAR IN CHAPTER THREE? READ: EZEKIEL 3:12-14 12 Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard behind me a great thunderous voice: "Blessed is the glory of the LORD from His place!" 13 I also heard the noise of the wings of the living creatures that touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, and a great thunderous noise. NKJV

READ: EZEKIEL 10:6-8 6 Then it happened, when He commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, "Take fire from among the wheels, from among the cherubim," that he went in and stood beside the wheels. 7 And the cherub stretched out his hand from among the cherubim to the fire that was among the cherubim, and took some of it and put it into the hands of the man clothed with linen, who took it and went out. 8 The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man's hand under their wings.

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:6-8 6 Then it happened, when He commanded the man clothed in linen, saying, "Take fire from among the wheels, from among the cherubim," that he went in and stood beside the wheels. 7 And the cherub stretched out his hand from among the cherubim to the fire that was among the cherubim, and took some of it and put it into the hands of the man clothed with linen, who took it and went out. 8 The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man's hand under their wings. WHAT DID GOD COMMAND THE MAN IN LINEN TO DO? WHAT DID THE CHERUB DO? WHY? WHAT IS SAID ABOUT THE CHERUBIM?

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:6-8 7 And the cherub stretched out his hand from among the cherubim to the fire that was among the cherubim, and took some of it and put it into the hands of the man clothed with linen, who took it and went out. WHAT DID THE CHERUB DO? WHY? WHAT DID GOD TELL EZEKIEL TO DO IN CHAPTER 5?

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:6-8 READ: EZEKIEL 5:1-4 1 "And you, son of man, take a sharp sword, take it as a barber's razor, and pass it over your head and your beard; then take scales to weigh and divide the hair. 2 You shall burn with fire one-third in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are finished; then you shall take one-third and strike around it with the sword, and one-third you shall scatter in the wind: I will draw out a sword after them. 3 You shall also take a small number of them and bind them in the edge of your garment. 4 Then take some of them again and throw them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire. From there a fire will go out into all the house of Israel. NKJV WHAT DID THIS MEAN?

QUESTIONS: EZEKIEL 10:8 8 The cherubim appeared to have the form of a man's hand under their wings. WHAT IS SAID ABOUT THE CHERUBIM? READ: EZEKIEL 1:6-8 6 Each one had four faces, and each one had four wings. 7 Their legs were straight, and the soles of their feet were like the soles of calves' feet. They sparkled like the color of burnished bronze. 8 The hands of a man were under their wings on their four sides; and each of the four had faces and wings. NKJV
