President s Welcome Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! Our Vision Statement is to present Jesus Christ in an informative and inspirational manner that is contemporary, creative, credible and caring way to the people of God. The hand of our Great God has guided me and shaped me and has lead me to this place. 15 years of service as the Pastor of one of the greatest churches this side heaven, the Grace Baptist Church, Norwalk is a true testament to only what God can do. My immense love, and passion for this convention and her people continues to grow stronger as we strive to do what God has called us to do. It is my sincere desire that this convention continues to press towards her marvelous potential, by building on the foundations that have been laid. Never more evidenced of what the people of God can do when we came together to render aid to the people of Flint, Michigan via our water relief effort. The response was nothing short of absolutely phenomenal; our convention exceeded the requested 1000 cases of water and received well over 3000 cases with $4,070.00 from 37 churches in financial donations to aid in the transportation cost. The Spirit of our Lord was high among all who labored in love for the people of Flint; we have a lot to be proud of. New divisions added will make their debut at our annual session. The Liturgical Division, Pastor Division, and Pastor Wives Forum are on the schedule this week and I hope you take the time to participate in the worthwhile discussions and fellowship among these new divisions. These are coupled with our already outstanding Women s Auxiliary and our great Congress of Christian Education. Yesterday at Hopewell Baptist Church in Windsor, CT (Pastor Massey) we held our Youth Fellowship and oh what a wonderful blessing it was. This week will also feature our statewide Ushers Ministry along with a spirit filled young adult ministry engagement. For our Social Justice Hour our keynote speaker will be Roslyn M. Brock Chairwoman of the National Board of Directors for the National Association for the Advancement

President s Welcome (cont.) of Colored People (NAACP). Rev Dr. Jesse Bottoms, Northeast Region Vice President of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. will be our annual banquet speaker. This will be an outstanding annual session. It is my hope that these efforts will no doubt go a long way to galvanize our Pastors, Churches and congregants as we meet the needs of our community and fulfill the admonition of our Lord to Do unto the least of these. During my early tenure as President, my wife and I have traveled around our state to support as many Districts, Pastoral Installations, milestones and Church Anniversaries. I am excited about all the hard work of many to create this year s session and I am so grateful for your support and your commitment to doing that which God can be proud of. Thank you for being a part of this year s session. Thank you for sharing your time with us and it is my prayer that you will find this 2016 CSMBC Annual Session both inspirational and informative. Together we are Shifting the Paradigm for 21st Century Ministry. Continuing in the Service of our Lord. Rev. Dr. Lindsay E. Curtis Reverend Dr. Lindsay E. Curtis Convention President

Women s Auxiliary Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in Unity! Psalms 133:1 It is with more joy than I could ever express that I welcome all who will be attending the 112th session of the Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention, and the 108th session of the CSMBC Women s Auxiliary. I am truly honored to have been given the opportunity to serve as the President of the Women s Auxiliary, it has truly been a labor of love, and I am excited to see where God will take us from here. It is the hope and prayer of the Women s Auxiliary that you have come seeking a blessing this week. For I know it can be found in the Praise and Worship Services, the Christian Education Classes, and the many opportunities planned for fellowship. I am more than confident if you bring a spirit of expectancy, you will be blessed beyond all you can ask or think. I encourage all the women who have not been actively involved with the Women s Auxiliary, to please reach out to one of my officers to exchange contact information so that you can share your talents to be a blessing to this ministry and so that you can be blessed in return. As we celebrate, worship and learn this week let us take advantage of every session, every class and every Preached Word to strengthen our resolve for Shifting the Paradigm for 21st Century Ministry. It is with a sorrowful heart that I acknowledge the passing of Women s Auxiliary President Emeritus Dr. Elsie Cofield. Mrs. Cofield was an amazing woman of God; giving of herself constantly to carry out the call of Christ to share the Gospel with everyone she had an opportunity to meet. Her loving heart compelled her to not only share spiritual blessings, but Dr. Cofield understood the necessity of caring for the whole person by meeting basic everyday needs. She left no stone unturned when it came to being a blessing to someone in need. She is a treasure that we will surely miss, but we will forever thank God that He allowed her to be ours for a while. I pray God s blessings on you today and every day. In His Service, Sister La Donna J. Blow Sister La Donna J. Blow, President Connecticut State Missionary Baptist Convention, Women s Auxiliary
