the newsletter of Community United Methodist Church All Things Considered June 2017 Glorify God Encourage One Another Share Jesus Grace and peace to you from God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christ; grace that provides divine assistance for daily living and peace to comfort us through all circumstances of life through the power of the Holy Spirit! Do you know that part of God s grace and peace is the power of vision! Today I am going to talk about vision and the need to stay focused on God s vision! You see, God has marvelously created each of us with the unique and mysterious ability to receive His vision for our future, and we are given the choice as to whether we want to move into that destiny or not. An exciting part of this gift of vision is your imagination and God wants to inspire your imagination with His Spirit. Being open to your Holy Spirit inspired vision is crucial because you were not created to be like a chicken, pecking around in the barnyard of the status quo or living a good life, seeing nothing but the dust of Old MacDonald s farm. Why? Because it ends in a life of mediocracy. Rather, the Lord has called you to mount up on eagles wings of faith and soar above the storms of life (Is. 40:30-31) and live the better Life which God created you for. A person can be excited about the great adventure that the Lord has set before them if he or she can hold on to the vision that God has offered them. The promise that God offers every Believer is that as the believer lives in the realm of hopeful vision, each new day can begin with fresh energy, enthusiasm, and God s anointing. But the vision God offers is not a person s own wants, wishes and desires; it is what is seen through the eyes of faith and is part of God s plan for your life - your destiny. But don t be surprised if the vision seems unattainable and impossible - - on your own! If you can easily attain a vision on your own, more than likely it is not God s vision but your own vision created by your own desires! It cannot be God s vision, because you don t need God you can achieve it on your own! The Lord intentionally presents a difficult vision, so we must depend upon Him! The truth is, you will never live beyond what you see! If you have the eyes of a chicken instead of the eyes of an eagle, your life will be very limited and you will never rise above mediocrity! In the ministry of the Community UM Church, part of our mission is to help you see the God given vision that the Holy Spirit has given you! But beware! There will be temptations! Some temptations are to limit your-self and never move beyond the mediocre good life and into God s destiny; or spend time with people who are comfortable with mediocre living that lack God s vision! Another temptation is the desire to move prematurely on God s vision God wants us prepared and timing is important! It is very important for every believer to move prayerfully and intentionally forward into the vision God has given you! Yes it may seem risky, but the Lord wants us to be daring enough to live by faith, to obediently move in the direction and timing of God s vision. I invite you to join in with any of the Small Groups or Bible Studies that are available through the Community UM Church this summer! Come and join us as we enter into the great adventure of God s vision and destiny for your life! May the Lord bless and keep you! Pastor Bill

National Day of Prayer Gathering on May 4, 2017 The Lord greeted us who gathered to pray Thursday morning, May 4 at 10:30am with a lovely spring day. A group of 12 members of CUMC gathered at the river side park next to the village hall/library to intercede for America s, Wisconsin s, Racine County s, and Waterford s leaders using a prayer guide by Intercessors for America. We declared 30 separate intercessions and the Scriptures that supported them for our political leaders. O Lord, hear. O Lord forgive. O Lord listen and act! was the theme of this year s National Day of Prayer, and at exactly 11am (along with hundreds, even thousands of other groups of believers, large and small, across our country) we prayed together the prayer from Daniel 9, repenting on behalf of our nation and asking God to hear, forgive and act to have mercy on and save our country a land whose founding documents stated that America s blessing and prosperity were dependent upon the grace of our good God. When we had finished our prayer of repentance, we joined hands and sang God Bless America! Next year the Prayer Ministry at CUMC will work to encourage other local churches to gather with us to honor and beseech God on behalf of the United States of America and the leaders that God has provided for us. We humbly thank God that we are still free to gather in public to pray and praise the Lord our God! Communion June 4, 2017

Trustee Update Hello Church! Huge Thank You to everyone that came out and helped with our annual Spring clean up day! We had a great turn out and accomplished a lot. Thanks again! We are in the process of scheduling some much needed repairs and maintenance to our parking lot. Please stay tuned for the dates. We will try to send out an email/call once we get a solid date. We will have to keep off the entire lot for 48 hours after the Sealcoating and line painting is done. We will do our best to work around all the various activities in our building, but we may need some flexibility on your part to accommodate. The lot is open as usual unless you see cones/ tape blocking off areas or entrances while work is being done. Thank you in advance for you assistance and cooperation with this. Please continue to do your part ensuring that lights are being turned off and doors are being locked as you leave our building through out the week. As always, feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns. Trustees@extremefaith.org May God protect you all as we move into the Summer season! Thank you, have a blessed Month! ~In His Service, Bob Wright The Way to Grow Preschool On Thursday, May 25, 2017 it was graduation day for the kids at The Way to Grow!
