Hope in Jesus Ministries Sharing hope with those impacted by incarceration September 2018 Hebrews 6:19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast Hope in Jesus Ministries completed nine, 12 week classes in Personal Integrity 1 during the summer session at the Adult Correctional Institute. On the first day of class we ask learners to complete a questionnaire about their thoughts towards the Bible and faith as it relates to helping with issues. On the last day of class we give them the same questionnaire. As an example, in one Minimum class, statistics show evidence of a 4% positive change in perspective. We have seen consistent evidence of changed mindsets throughout classes over the years. In addition to life-skills classes, we launched Phase II of the Genesis Discipleship group on Wednesday mornings at Medium. Phase II: The Past will take the men through a series on what true manhood really is. On page 3,you will read a testimony from Steve. Steve has been involved in the work of evangelizing through worship for many years. What a blessing it is to now see him teaching inmate musicians to lead worship biblically, It is with your help that we are able to continue offering these kingdom building opportunities in Rhode Island and in Nigeria (check out page 2)!

Volunteer Testimony Where do I begin, there have been many moments that have been such a blessing to me by serving alongside Pastor Tony Mancuso. Pastor Tony has such a charismatic and humble but authoritative way of delivering the message, that it keeps everyone s attention. And by doing so, it becomes a joy to listen to him preach God s word. I will start with the service we have at the minimum security where we have an evening church service. The men that come out for the service are ready and prepared to worship God through music, prayer, and by hearing the word. Whether there are 5 or 25 men doesn t matter, Pastor Tony will lead and encourage them to sing at what seems to be at the top of their lungs. Our last meeting was so loud that I could hardly hear the drum machine and myself sing and playing the guitar! But what a blessing it is to see and hear these men worshiping God together. I am also very blessed by their willingness to share their testimonies of how God is working in their lives. The men are always very respectful and appreciative that someone would take the time to come out and spend time with them in corporate worship. As a result of giving these men hope through God s Holy Word, people are being saved. Just this week someone professed Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. The blessings continue in medium security. I have been involved with the music ministry there for a little while now and I have to tell you these men are very, very talented. As I get to know each one and converse with them individually, I can see the passion they have for the Lord. Their commitment to bless others with their talents is truly a testimony in itself. Some of the men write their own songs as a way of articulating their own personal testimonies. I believe that God is doing a mighty work in the hearts of these men. I am equally encouraged by the knowledge that these men have about the Word of God. I believe that if they continue to walk in the ways of the Lord and continue to humble themselves before Him, God will use them in a mighty way. I look forward in anticipation to how God will continue to use each man and their own unique personalities to further the work of His Kingdom. Brother Steve G
