What: Youth and Family event 3-5 pm Pickleball for All When: Sunday June 10, 2018 Where: Clinton County Senior Center gymnasium rear entrance at old MAI gym parking also in back of Cornelia St. between Brinkerhoff and Court Streets Introduction to Pickleball for families age 8 and up. Learn the basics of using a paddle and control of hits. Skills taught to family groups and adults. Paddles and balls provided. There will be very specific safety rules that must be followed! We thank her for her generosity for filling the pulpit while Pastor Tim is away today. Catharine feels honored and filled with joy to be filling the pulpit this morning! She has just completed her second year at Union Presbyterian Seminary in Richmond, Virginia and is looking forward to starting her third and final year this fall. When Catharine is not busy with her studies she enjoys spending time with friends enjoying all the delicious food Richmond has to offer, singing in the choir and teaching Sunday school at Ginter Park Presbyterian Church and spending time with her two precious cats, Miley and Izzy. The personnel committee is looking for a substitute Sexton to be a backup. If you are interested in working on a Sunday morning every once in a while please contact our Pastor or Terri Mahoney, Chair of Personnel. We like to acknowledge the achievements of our students in the June issue of Pulse, and during the Worship Service on Youth Sunday, June 17. The Pulse deadline is this coming Tuesday, May 29. We know of high school grads, Sally Blow, Caleb Moore, and Jonathan Slocum, and college grads, Kayse Brunell and Letitia Krieg. Thank you. On June 10, there will be my meeting with the Families in the Library during Fellowship Coffee hour. Rehearsal for Youth Sunday on June 17 th will begin on Sunday, June 3 rd, at 9:15 a.m. A bottle collection has been started to raise funds for future youth and church events. Blue bins are in the back storage/refuge room in Fellowship Hall, please have them rinsed out. They will be collected on Thursday. So far we have raised $20.00! Plans for an overnight camping/canoe trip to Heart Lake, North Elba for August 12-13. Two Lean-tos, one for boys, one for girls, have been reserved, available for ages 8 years and up. Accommodations are for up to 12 persons, including volunteers and youth. Families will be given the option to reserve individual camp sites. If you plan on joining us, contact Cindy for a membership discount. We need volunteers to help with transportation, water front activities including canoeing, etc. Then cost for each child is $8.00. Tentative plans for a family style dinner for the kids at the ADK Loj and a naturalist to provide for a guided tour of the property are some of the activities planned thus far. Please book early, If you have not been to ADK Loj, it provides beautiful vistas of the Adirondack Mountains and hiking for all abilities. More information to follow.
