By fred a. conti Mr. Tellinger is a South African by birth and has the benefit of a different worldview than those of us in the US. He can present the reality of living in a country consumed by gold mining. Tellinger ties in much of Zechariah Sitchin's work, pulling out the parts that had better credibility from Sitchin's many books. He does not swallow the parts that are murky. Hart There is plenty of anomalous evidence in support of Ancient Astronaut/Alternative History theories out there, from different cultures and paradigms all over the world. This particular text handles the subject a la Zecharia Sitchin through ancient Sumerian Texts, and the author does a great job with it. The author draws a light to the fact that any text or story about ancient history aside from the holy books of world religions is typically treated as myth. He argues that we have been taught to view our history through the lens of world religion and mainstream academia, which has led to our ignorance of the stunning similarities of the histories taught by other cultures. The author focuses much of his work through the Sumerian texts, as they are considered to be the oldest. He offers a side by side comparison of 'mythological pantheons' from various cultures, examples of earlier texts and their "diluted biblical versions", alternative explanations for the life of prophets like Jesus and he wraps it all up with a wonderful retelling of the Sumerian creation epic as historical fact. I found this to be a thoroughly enjoyable and plausible read. Tellinger pulls the story of the Anunnaki together in a way that not even Sitchin achieved in my opinion. I really found myself able to relate to the story of our ancient ancestors as real people with a problem and a plausible solution (which turned out to be us) and a dilemma that potentially left us here with nothing but a distorted view of our past and "chains around our ankles".
