SCRIPTURE Acts 2: 36-47 (NKJV) 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call. A Vital Church Grows 40 And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, Be saved from this perverse generation. 41 Then those who gladly [a] received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them. 42 And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 Then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. 44 Now all who believed were together, and had all things in common, 45 and sold their possessions and goods, and divided them among all, as anyone had need. 46 So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church [b] daily those who were being saved. 4
RESPONSIVE READING Psalm 138:1-8 (NKJV) LEADER: I will praise You with my whole heart; Before the gods I will sing praises to You. CONG: I will worship toward Your holy temple, And praise Your name For Your loving kindness and Your truth; For You have magnified Your word above all Your name. LEADER: In the day when I cried out, You answered me, And made me bold with strength in my soul. All the kings of the earth shall praise You, O Lord, When they hear the words of Your mouth. CONG: Yes, they shall sing of the ways of the Lord, For great is the glory of the Lord. Though the Lord is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar. LEADER: Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch out Your hand Against the wrath of my enemies, And Your right hand will save me. ALL: The Lord will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever; Do not forsake the works of Your hands. 5
O HOW I LOVE JESUS There is a name I love to hear, love to sing its worth; It sounds like music to mine ear, The sweetest name on earth. Chorus: O, how I love Jesus, O, how I love Jesus, O, how I love Jesus, Because He first Loved me! It tells me of a Savior s love, Who died to set me free; It tells me of His precious blood, The sinner s perfect plea. It tells of One whose loving heart Can feel my deepest woe, Who in each sorrow bears a part, That none can bear below. 6
The tenth shall be holy unto the Lord. Leviticus 27:32 Every Christian should strive to learn how to be a cheerful giver. When we give what does it actually mean? It simply means we, cheerfully give to God our tithes and offerings. Tithing honors God. Are you giving the Lord His tithes or your tips? The word tithe means to give back to God one tenth of your earnings for the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor and the spread of the Gospel throughout the world.
