Each of us as God leads us on the journey of life-long learning to challenge our assumptions and assuage our fears. Each one, youngest to oldest, as we journey together through grief, joy, pain, illness, celebration, fear, hope and the many other experiences of life. Sunday school teachers, children and youth as they anticipate the new year of questions and discovery. Additional persons to respond to the call to use their gifts of nurture and teaching to serve in our Sunday School ministries. MYF and RAY sponsors who have committed to journey with our youth through the coming year of learning, service, and activities. Young persons who are making plans for another year of college and parents who are learning to let go. Hesston College students as they arrive on campus for a week of practices, team community building, orientation and a jump start on classes. May their interactions be blessed as they build friendships with each other. The children who will receive the MCC School Kits that these learning tools may help fan the spark curiosity, and empowerment for lives that can bring healing to the nations. Persons who are in transitions, whatever the kind. A prayer for peace for all living in fear of persecution. Wisdom for world leaders as they interact and respond to volatile situations. The prayer room is available all week for those who would like to spend some time in personal prayer (located north of the sanctuary across from the Education Hall). The great news is that we are in the process of finalizing an agreement with a person to serve in an interim pastor role with Hesston Mennonite for the coming year. We look forward to finalizing this and giving you a name before too long. - Jon Friesen Kansas Institute for Peace and Reconciliation Engagement with Hesston Mennonite Church - In July the church council and board of elders engaged in discussion with KIPCOR to understand how they might be able to assist us in working to improve our congregational structure, communication, and health. KIPCOR has offered a proposal for working with our congregation in the coming year. An informational meeting will be held to explain the need for and objectives desired from this work with KIPCOR. The meeting will be held during the Sunday School hour on Sunday, August 26th, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in the community center. - Jon Friesen The in touch newsletter, published on the 1 st and 3 rd Sundays, contains additional announcements and information.
