Volume 64 / Week Number 1 / January 3, 2013 The Messenger first baptist huntsville irst thoughts David hull, Pastor happy New Year! those words rang out many times during this past week. We greet 2013 with such words and share this exclamation of hope with each other. or irst Baptist Church, the New Year begins with a very significant Sunday. It truly is a Happy New Year! Let me tell you about it. Sunday morning, January 6, our irst ellowship worship service will meet in a new space. the Life Center in our new addition will now be the home for our 8:15 a.m. contemporary worship service. the seating capacity will be greatly enlarged and the space for worship should be a tremendous improvement for us. i encourage everyone who worships in the irst ellowship service to be present on Sunday for this significant beginning. More than that i encourage you to invite someone to join you for worship on this day. Come for refreshments and fellowship in the gathering Place prior to worship, and then be ready to praise god together at 8:15 when a new era of worship begins for irst Baptist Church. We have planned a special time to launch the new building addition on Sunday afternoon. rom 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. we will have an open house in the new space. Come and look around and become acquainted with all of the areas of the facilities. then at 3:00 p.m. we will have a Service of Dedication in the Life Center. the purpose of this service is to give thanks to all who have worked so hard to bring the dream of this new space to reality. We will worship and pray and dedicate this new space to the glory of god. Everyone is invited to attend. or over seven years we have been planning, praying, talking, giving, and building a new structure. Now we are beginning to use the space. As we move in, i think that it will be a good time to talk about Building the People of god. My message series will start on Sunday morning and will focus on how god wants us the church to be built. What would that look like? We know what our new facilities look like now. What would the People of god look like if we let god build us? Let s talk about that on Sunday morning. happy New Year! 2013 promises to be a great year for irst Baptist Church.
