Please sign-up! VETERANS DAY SERVICE - The Sisterhood ladies planned today s special service. Thanks to Dr. Sarah Lentz our 8:30 speaker and to Pastor John Dean our 11:00 speaker. NO SEEKERS' CLASS/NO PASTOR'S CLASS TODAY - Because of the many folks involved in the picture-taking that is happening during the Sunday school hour, neither the Seekers nor Pastor s classes will meet. They will resume next week, November 18. You are of course welcome to bring your coffee to the classroom and visit. Thank you for understanding. CHURCH CALENDARS - The calendars are here! You may pick up your calendar in the narthex today. Thank you to all who supported this fundraiser. Bev Snyder & Helen Redding WORLD THANK OFFERING JARS If you did not get your jar last week, please pick one up in the narthex. This celebration of the UM Women supports women, children & youth throughout the USA and the world. The jars will be received on Sunday, Nov. 25. ANNUAL CHILDREN S DINNER THEATER - Tickets are on sale after the 8:30 and before the 11:00 service. Cost is $10.00 per ticket, children 3 and under free. ALL proceeds go toward the 2019 Vacation Bible School. The children will present the The Christmas Story on Sunday, December 16 @ 2:00PM in the social hall. Dinner will include salad, bread sticks, spaghetti with meatballs and cake. For questions see Kathie Browning or Nancy Baker. The Children s Ministry team thanks you for your support of the children! TEXAS ROADHOUSE GIFT CARD FUNDRAISER Here s a great Christmas gift. Order card(s) in the narthex today through Sunday, November 25. Cards will be delivered on Sunday, December 2. Proceeds will be split between the Community Outreach Committee & the General Fund. Contacts Ruth Horner or Ruth Myers. PS: There will be a Texas Roadhouse Restaurant fundraiser in January, so buy yourself a card now and then use it in January. CHURCH DIRECTORY Bill Aldridge will be taking photos immediately following the 8:30 service of the various church committees. If you are part of any committee please gather in the sanctuary immediately after the 8:30 service. Also, if you did not have your picture taken, Bill can take your photo today. ADVENT STUDY - Adam Hamilton's FAITHFUL, Christmas Through the Eyes of Joseph. Four sessions, November 27 thru December 19. Tuesday evenings, 7-8:30PM & Wednesday afternoons, 1-2:30PM. See the sign-up sheets in the narthex. Contact: Pastor John LIBRARY NEWS - "Starry Night" by Debbie Macomber is a romantic story that will pull at your heartstrings with its holiday theme and emphasis on love and finding that special someone.... THIS WEEK FINANCE MEETING - Monday, November 12 @ 7:00PM. THE WAY FORWARD - The United Methodist Church is holding a special General Conference in St. Louis, MO in February 2019. This conference is for the purpose of examining and voting on the three paths forward, that the Council of Bishops have proposed for our denomination on the issues regarding human sexuality. Delegates have been selected from each Annual Conference to attend and vote. On Tuesday, November 13 @ 7:00PM and Wednesday, November 14 @ 1PM. Pastor John will host an information and discussion session here. We will show some short video presentations to help us understand more about the possible decisions that could be made and how they may affect our local churches. I hope you will try to attend. Please feel free to contact Pastor John with any questions about this event. MEN'S SUPPER - Wednesday, November 14 @ 6PM. Please let Pastor John or Keenan know by noon on Wednesday if you are coming so enough food can be ordered. Feel free to bring a guest. Please bring a Bible or your electronic device.

... NEXT WEEK UNITED METHODIST WOMEN MEETING - Monday, November 19 @ 1:00PM in the conference room. We will finalize our Bazaar plans. Please try to attend this meeting. COUNCIL MEETING - Monday, November 19 @ 7:00PM. THANKSGIVING SERVICE - Tuesday, November 20 @ 7:30PM at Sandy Mount UMC. Hopefully, this allows the cooks and those who travel on Thanksgiving Eve, to worship with us. Deer Park UMC & Trinity Lutheran will join Sandy Mount UMC for this service. SANCTUARY & CHURCH DECORATING - Saturday, November 24, beginning at 8:30AM to prepare for Advent. Please come when you can to help. Please see the sign-up sheet in the narthex. Thank you! ONGOING CALL FOR COATS - A collection box is in the narthex for gently used outerwear--coats, jackets, hoodies- -for The Shepherd's Staff's annual Call for Coats. WESTMINSTER COLD WEATHER SHELTER - A collection box is in the narthex for donations of socks & new underwear. Any questions see Ginny Weaver or Gene Myers.
