Caroling to Shut-Ins Hilltop's annual caroling party is Sunday, December 2. For families, youth, adults - everyone is welcome, and the more, the merrier. Meet in Fellowship Hall for a light supper at 4:00 pm; we will leave the church at 4:45 and return around 7:00 pm. Sign up in Fellowship Hall to bring soup, bread, or treats for this church-wide event. This is best gift you can give yourself this year! Youth Group Craft Night Advent Candles. Children s Sunday School Update Sunday school for children ages 4 years 5 th grade now meet in a one-room classroom. Meet in room S103 with Miss Taylor and Miss Trina. UMW Christmas Dinner It is time to be Merry and Bright at the annual UMW Christmas dinner! We will dine and be entertained on Monday, December 10 at 6:00pm. ALL women are invited. Tickets are $12 per person and will be on sale in the fellowship hall Sunday November 18, 25 and December 2. Please purchase your tickets prior to the dinner. NO tickets will be sold at the door. Childcare is available with reservations. Salvation Army Bell Ringing Need a great family service project for the holidays? Come ring the Salvation Army bell at the Smith s on 1300E! Judy Stevens is once again organizing bell ringers for 3 Saturdays in December (8, 15 and 22). It s easy; kids love to participate; and you can even sing Christmas carols the whole time. Sign-up for several shifts or just one which is only an hour. Look for Judy in the Fellowship Hall the next few Sundays if you are interested. Help Out a Friend Vern Rosenstiel is seeking some help with a little work at his house. The insurance company is giving him some grief over some exterior paint that is coming off. He is in no shape to be doing the repairs himself. If any could pitch in, Vern would love to talk to you. Give him a call: 801-808-8421. Vern has been the backbone of the Hilltop UMM for many years and it would be a good thing to give him a hand. Inspiring Donations Every time you shop at Smith s, the grocery will put aside funds for Hilltop missions. But not if you haven t gone online to register that you want Hilltop to be your charity. HUMC s organization number is 75252. Please register HUMC to receive this little bonus; it s very easy. Crossroads Thrift Store Donations A few actions on your part would be helpful: 1) if you have a carload of stuff to donate, please go ahead and drive it down to store and unload it there. 1385 W Indiana Ave, SLC. If it s a few items, feel free to leave them at the church. 2) Please bag the donations that you re going to put in the bins. Thank you! 6
Crossroads Urban Center Foods of the month for November are canned meals (ravioli, spaghetti-os). Thrift store items of the month are blankets. Please leave your donations in the black bins in the hallway near the kitchen. Nametags Wearing our nametags helps all of us get to know each other better. If you have a nametag, please wear it during worship and fellowship. If you don t have one, we will be happy to provide one for you. Please get a note to the office to order you one. Paper Recycling Bin Bring your junk mail, magazines, newspapers, and cardboard boxes to be recycled and make money for missions. Drop your paper products in the lively painted bin at the back of the parking lot. Every month the bin reaches a ton of good recyclables, Hilltop earns $15. Hilltop Children's Choir Hilltop Children's Choir rehearsals have begun! Children in grades 1-5 are always welcome to join us for fun, hands-on rehearsals on Thursday evenings, 6:15-7:15pm. We incorporate percussion, Orff, handchimes, and drama as we learn about music and explore our voices. Contact Robin Dale (801) 558-0065. Prayer Requests You may request prayers for yourself or a loved one to be lifted up during worship. Look for prayer request cards in the pew racks. Fill one out and hand it to or the liturgist during the Passing of the Peace. He will share appropriate prayer requests during the blessings and concerns portion of worship. The prayer requests will be added to the prayer chain on Monday and included in the next Sunday bulletin (unless you mark that you d like it kept private).
