welcome to worship God is here for you. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness This time of silent reflection is an opportunity to open your heart to God s presence. Some suggestions for reflection are: Where have you seen God this week? What do you need to ask of God? For what do you need to give God thanks? A time of silent reflection Most merciful God, we confess that we are captive to sin and cannot free ourselves. We have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us. Forgive us, renew us, and lead us, so that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your holy name. Amen. In the mercy of almighty God, Jesus Christ was given to die for us, and for his sake, forgives us all our sins. As a called and ordained minister of the Church of Christ, and by his authority, I therefore declare to you the entire forgiveness of all your sins, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. GATHERING HYMN I ll Fly Away 1) Some bright morning when this life is over To that home on God s celestial shore Chorus:, oh glory in the morning When I die, Hallelujah by and by 2) When the shadows of this life have gone Like a bird from these prison walls I ll fly Chorus 3) Just a few more weary days and then To a land where joys will never end Chorus GREETING The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. And also with you.
HYMN OF PRAISE I Saw the Light 1) I wandered so aimless life filled with sin I wouldn t let my dear saviour in Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night Praise the Lord I saw the light Chorus: I saw the light I saw the light No more darkness no more night Now I m so happy no sorrow in sight Praise the Lord I saw the light 2) Just like a blind man I wandered along Worries and fears I claimed for my own Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight Praise the Lord I saw the light Chorus 3) I was a fool to wander and a-stray Straight is the gate and narrow the way Now I have traded the wrong for the right Praise the Lord I saw the light Chorus PRAYER OF THE DAY Gracious God, Lord of All, help us to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Help us to overcome our prejudices and our fears and to recognize all people as precious children of God; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord we pray. Amen. On the third day he rose again; he ascended into heaven, he is seated at the right hand of the Father, and he will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
