The test scores are in and the First Baptist Church Ambassadors for Youth SOL Prep tutorial program is a success! We provide SOL preparation in addition to tutoring for kindergarten through grade five students to help them meet and exceed grade-level expectations. This year we have expanded our goals, we are now Ambassadors for Youth K-5 Learning Academy. The Academy is an outreach program that provides additional instruction for children in reading and math. We work with all children, whether identified as at risk or gifted. The Academy is free and without this program, many of the students in our community would not be able to get this much-needed help. There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available, and the Academy takes place two Saturdays a month from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Volunteer registration will take place today in the Activity Center following the Morning Worship Service. For additional information, please contact Ramona Nazareth at (757) 722-2660.
