God s People Worship Communion, September 2, 2018, 9:30 a.m. [* THOSE WHO ARE ABLE, PLEASE STAND] The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. - Psalm 19:7 Pray and watch eagerly in the quietness of your heart during the prelude this morning as you prepare to worship God Almighty. Prelude Abide with Me arr. Robert Holdoy Welcome Announcements * Greet One Another Call to Worship Prayer of Invocation and the Lord s Prayer Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. * Praise Songs Salvation Belongs to Our God Step by Step Offering and Offertory Psalm Gordon Young * Doxology Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Alleluia! He suffered and was buried, and the third day He rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sits on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory, to judge both the living and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end. And I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church. I acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. And I look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

On the first Saturday of each month at 5:00 p.m. we will celebrate the Lord s Supper together in the Crossroads Center, with worship similar to our previous Saturday informal worship services. (Note that this will be the only Saturday worship service each month). Then, on the third Saturday of the month we will gather in the church parlor or Crossroads Center for food (such a pizza or hoagies which will be provided), fellowship, discussion and various presentations. Some topics we are considering are: biblical/theological question and answer time, presentations by members of the congregation about their special interests, a look at our society/culture from a biblical viewpoint, or group prayer time for our church, community and world. We are calling this new ministry FFF Fellowship and Food at Five. Please sign up on the sheet posted on the bulletin board outside of the narthex or call the church office by the Thursday before if you plan to attend, and indicate if you need child care.
