BIBLE ENGAGEMENT SPECIAL FEATURE B.E. STAFF ON THE MOVE God is actively speaking to us daily. Bible Engagement (BE) is learning how to hear God and to follow what He says. - Timothy Cheang Against the backdrop of the bright sunlight streaming in, the large hall was buzzing with chatter as the NSCFL campers gathered that morning. They were waiting expectantly to hear from Timothy on apologetics. This is a day in the life of Timothy, our BE staff, who is passionate about teaching the Word of God and sharing BE with youths. As he serves this way, delicately balancing ministry and family time, he particularly appreciates being part of the SU family, local and global. For transport I just rent a car or a four-wheel drive to do ministry. - Emelda Roukin 150 YEARS OF GOD s GOODNESS SU Global Assembly Celebration in Malaysia The global community of and what they are doing in SU gathered at The Everly their movements were truly shares that BE is really a blessing to me. The word WITNESS in Hebrew [ êd] \ayd\ comes from the verb which means to say again and again. To be a witness is to testify about something or Catching on this someone repeatedly. As we consider Jesus last words (and how important it is!) for us to be His witness heartbeat of God (Acts 1:8), isn t it apt to say that is what we ought to do to testify about Him and what He has done in for us our lives unceasingly? Perhaps the greater question to ask: Have we been doing it? Being His witness, or evangelism as we call it, is one thing all Christians should do regardless of age. Catching on this heartbeat of God for us, the theme WITNESS was chosen for the annual National School Christian Fellowship Leaders (NSCFL) Camp last year as we aim to ingrain this even in today s generation. WITNESS ACTS 1:8 One of the events that was shared, and will be organised by Scripture Union for the very first time this year is the CAP Games an Inter-School Christian Fellowship Captainball Tournament. Realizing how sports has been the universal language for many, SU is jumping on the bandwagon to help the SCFs to reach out to their friends through sports. CAP Games provides the platform for the students to build friendships and connect their friends to their CFs. This event will be held at SMK (L) Bukit Bintang, Petaling Jaya on 28th April. For updated information on the event, visit our website at www.su.org.my. The NSCFL Camp saw 118 campers and 25 officers from all around Malaysia coming together at Seminari Theoloji Malaysia Seremban from 27 November to 2 December to be blessed and challenged to continue to be God s salt and light in their communities. Various topics were considered: theme talks based on Acts 1:8, plenary sessions on defining and defending the gospel, and workshops to equip the students to run their respective CFs and YFs. Apart from the sessions, campers enjoyed a good time of fellowship and networking through the games, free time and even a simple chit chat over the meals. At the end of the camp, the students were given some options to be Christ s witnesses in their schools to put what they had learned into practice evangelism training, running evangelistic Bible studies, camps and events. 3 4
