North Carolina Missions Offering Collected Sept. - Oct. TBC Goal: $25,000 Trinity had an amazing opportunity in February of this year to send a team to work with Door of Hope in South Africa. Door of Hope is a ministry dedicated to rescuing abandoned children with both physical care and Christian nurturing. We personally visited 3 baby nurseries, heard long range plans for children s care, worshiped in their churches as well as donating a lot of sweat and muscle power to the cause. The 3 houses that we began are almost finished now and we plan to return to help with the continuation of building a village in March, 2019. This mission trip was made possible by a partnership established by NC Baptist on Mission with the Door of Hope ministry. As you consider your gift for the NC Missions offering, please remember the wonderful work being done through NC Baptist on Mission who are supported through this giving. Be a part of God s work through your generous donation to the NC Missions offering.

p Rev. Hal Melton, hmelton@tbcraleigh.com Marriage Enrichment Group Information Sessions Sundays, September 16, 23 & 30 6pm C102 in New Building Marriage is a sacred relationship entered into with the highest of hopes and dreams. But the early sky rocket/infatuation type love only carries us so far. Then come the life issues that require a higher level of love and commitment to the relationship for those initial hopes and dreams to stay alive. Marriage Enrichment is TBC s way of offering couples of all ages the opportunity to learn about / experience communication and intimacy skills that truly will be a huge asset as life goes on. We like to say that M.E. helps turn stumbling blocks into stepping stones. MEGs are 6-8 couples who meet once a month in homes to invest an evening in growing their marriage. A Leader Couple facilitates. You are invited to hear a LOT more about how these monthly gatherings have touched the lives of many in our congregation, and continue to do so. On 3 Sunday nights in September, different couples currently involved in MEGs will share their experiences, give testimony to the value of participation, and answer any questions that you may have. Then on FRIDAY EVENING, OCT. 12, we will begin a new Starter MEG that will meet 8 evenings through May. Ongoing MEGs (those who have completed the starter MEG and want to continue together) will begin their gatherings in October as well. Questions? Join us at one or more of the 3 Sunday evening gatherings in September. You ll be glad you did!! - Hal & Roberta Melton FINAL MISSION TO SANTA ELENA, BELIZE! So many TBC members have partnered with God and the congregation of Santa Elena Baptist Church to construct the Santa Elena Baptist Primary School. The school is wide-open with over 130 students and just had its first Graduation in June (13 students!). Pastor Manny has asked for assistance in building the walls of the two classrooms on the second floor of the preschool building. He already has funds for building materials. He needs willing hearts and hands. These two rooms will be tiled and air conditioned for use as school principal s office and computer lab. It will take two weeks to accomplish this mission. Some will be able to stay for two weeks others will choose only one. The dates are January 3-19. We will stay at the Aguada Hotel within walking distance of the school. We will have free days built in on Caye Caulker as usual. Cost for one week (air fare, ground transportation, lodging, most meals, ice/water, water taxi, insurance and t-shirt) will be around $1,475. Cost for two weeks will be around $2,200 (yet to be calculated). Sign Up Sheets will be on the Sign-Up Board in the Narthex next Sunday. SPACE IS LIMITED so do not wait!! After this mission, our overseas emphasis will most likely turn to Disaster Relief in Puerto Rico.

Rev. Steve Byers, slbyers@tbcraleigh.com Special thanks to the Orchestra & Men s Choir for providing worship music in this past week s services. The Men s Choir, under Nathan Snell s direction, has been meeting in the in-between season of New Covenant and Living Praise to rehearse and provide music for worship. We are very grateful for their commitment and desire to continue to serve God through music. The Trinity Orchestra continues to grow and you are encouraged to come be a part of the fun! sss Children s Choirs are going strong again this year! It is never too late to enroll your child(ren) into an graded choir program for preschoolers and children. Come get involved in choir ministry! Rehearsals are on Wednesdays at 6 pm. sss The two vocal ensembles, Living Praise and New Covenant, begin on October 3 and you are invited to come and be a part of the tremendous fun and fellowship in these groups. Living Praise, which meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm, is led by Joy Blashaw and presents music of various styles for worship. New Covenant, led by Jessica Isaacs and meets at 6:45 on Wednesdays. New Covenant sings contemporary music for worship. If you haven t found a place to serve musically, please consider coming and adding your voice to praise the Lord with us! sss We will begin FirstLight rehearsals on Sundays at 4 pm in the Choir Room. Beginning on September 16 FirstLight will resume their rehearsals to add music to the 8:45 worship service each week. This choir is a worship leading choir in that it is faithful each week to provide music for the services, but we need more singers to continue building this choir. Maybe you ve experienced a desire to get back into choir leadership but haven t made the commitment yet. This is a great place to begin! Let s talk about how you can come and get involved. Mary McDonald Concert Sunday, October 21 Keep October 21 on your calendars for our concert with Mary McDonald! In both morning services as well as in the evening, Mary McDonald is back with us to share her musical talents through song at the keyboard as well as church music anthems she has written sung by our Sanctuary Choir. Mary is a prolific writer of church music and is well-known in churches and church music circles spanning many denominations. Her music has touched lives for decades, and we will be able to share the day with her here at Trinity. Mark you calendars! The concert will be at 6 pm. More to come! Where are you going to serve this year in the Music Ministry at Trinity? Do you have special gifts in singing or playing an instrument that God can use to lead in worship? There are many ensembles, choirs, and groups that need you to continue the music ministry for years to come. Our musicians will be back into the swing of things soon. Take a look below at the starting dates and times for the Wednesday Night and Sunday Night Programs: September 16 Sunday Night Programs Begin (Bells of Praise begins, 5 pm Student Choir, 6 pm) October 3 Vocal Ensembles Begin (Living Praise & New Covenant)
