Today we celebrate those who are in all fields of labor, sales and home management (i.e. Autobody, mechanics, manufacturing, construction, lawn care, painter, custodial services, generator tech, transportation, linemen, retail sales, mason, electrician, repair persons, plumbers, HVAC ). Our speaker will be Granny Codine, and she will bring lots of fun and laughter. November is also our time to bring toys for children for Christmas. Please remember to bring a toy so that we can help kids have a brighter Christmas. We will work with Mt. Hope Fire Department to make delivery of the toys. Following our program we will enjoy lunch at Western Steak House in Burlington.
Handbells and Choir Rehearsals: There will be no handbell or choir rehearsals this week or next Wednesday, November 23 rd. The Choir will have a make-up rehearsal on Monday, November 21 st. The Handbell Choir will not have a make-up rehearsal. Office Hours for Thanksgiving week: Shirley will be in the office on Tuesday, November 22. The bulletin will need to be done on this day since she will be out of the office for the rest of the week. She will resume regular hours on November 30 th. The Pastors offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday. Pastor Lynne will be on call. Thanksgiving Day: We will be providing the residents of Alamance Plaza with Thanksgiving lunch and delivering it at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, November 24 th. We have an approximate count of 35 this year. Please contact Gloria Apple at 336-312-8951 or gloria@industrialpowerinc.com, if you would like to make a donation towards the turkey/ham, or if you would like to make a side dish or dessert. We welcome anyone that wants to volunteer to help or/and go on the delivery. The residents are so appreciative since some have no family or way to get out on Thanksgiving. Mark Your Calendars for Saturday, November 26 th : Please come out and help us set up the Outdoor Nativity Scene on the front lawn of the church at 9:00 a.m. Let s share this display to show why "Jesus is the reason for the season!" We will be decorating our church on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. As usual, we will serve a light supper before we get started. Tim will provide Christmas music on the piano as we decorate! Please come out and join us! It's a great way to start our holiday season!! Save the Date: Youth Outing - "Airbound Trampoline Park" - January 29 th - Our youth have selected their next outing. They would like to go to a trampoline park. Please mark your calendars to join in the fun on this date, directly following worship. Thank you. Condolences: Our Christian sympathies are with the family of Evelyn Neece. Evelyn passed away early Thursday morning. Her funeral service will be held today at 4:00 p.m. Visitation will take place from 2:00 4:00 today. Also, Chris Eller, son of Peggy Eller, passed away on November 10 th. Our prayers go out to both families. Weekly Reflection: Be grateful at Mount Hope UCC! Each day this week write down five things you are grateful for! Start keeping a gratitude journal. You ll be amazed at how being mindful of your blessings will improve your mood and your ability to be faithful and generous! Next week in worship we will celebrate those who work in fields of administration, law, government, education, music and the arts. Please invite anyone you know who works in these fields in our community to come and be honored next week in worship. The Memorial Association has placed American flags on the graves of veterans buried in Mt. Hope cemetery.
