Pastor Michael Irby Because He Lives God sent His son, they called Him Jesus He came to love, heal and forgive; He bled and died to buy my pardon An empty grave is there to prove my Saviour lives. Refrain: Because He lives; I can face tomorrow. Because He lives; All fear is gone Because I know, I know, He holds the future. And life is worth the living just because He lives. How sweet to hold a newborn baby And feel the pride and joy He gives, But greater still that calm assurance This child can face uncertain days because He lives. And then one day I ll cross that river I ll fight life s final war with pain, And then as death gives way to victory I ll see the lights of glory and I ll know He reigns. Blessed Assurance Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine! O what a foretaste of glory divine! Heir of salvation, purchase of God, Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood. Refrain: This is my story, this is my song Praising my Savior all the day long This is my story, this is my song, Praising my Savior all the day long. Perfect submission, perfect delight, Visions of rapture now burst on my sight. Angels descending bring from above Echoes of mercy, whispers of love. Perfect submission, all is at rest, I in my Savior am happy and blest. Watching and waiting, looking above, Fill d with His goodness, lost in His love.
Life Story of Dilson Barbosa Silva Mr. Dilson Barbosa Silva, affectionately known as Silva or Brazil was born to Joao and Maria Silva on 26th January 1958 in Salgado, Brazil, being the sixth and last child born to this union. Dilson had three sisters and two brothers: Marlene, Bernadete, Juarez, Gideon and Rosa. For better education opportunities, the family moved to Aracaju, in the northern part of Brazil in the early 60 s. After High School he joined the Brazilian Army where he served for one year. In 1980 Dilson joined his eldest sister, Marlene in Rio de Janeiro to seek employment. He later met Luzia Martins and together they were blessed with two daughters, Louane and Priscila. In 1990 Dilson moved to Grand Cayman where he began a new career with Tyson Painters. He became re-acquainted with Francine to whom he was united in marriage on the 26th August 1994. He became like a father to Francine s two sons, Daniel and Peter. In 1996 they were blessed with their baby girl, Amanda whom he affectionately referred to as my last one. Dilson became a very skilled painter, so much so that he and Francine started their own company, Silva s Maintenance. The company was successful until the downturn of the economy which forced him to seek employment elsewhere. In 2007 he was hired by the Public Works Department, where he remained until his sudden passing. Dilson took great pride in his work and worked his way through the ranks up to Lead Painter. Apart from his immaculate painting, he will be remembered for his love of football and proudly displaying his Brazil flag during World Cup in support of his home team. Dilson had a very outgoing personality and loved getting together with his fellow countrymen. He became well known for his special grilled beef and was often invited to cook his specialty at various functions. He was always quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. During the past few years, Dilson attended and enjoyed worshipping at the Cayman Islands Baptist Church. Dilson s untimely departure from this world is recorded as 27th October 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maria and Joao Silva. Left to mourn is his wife Francine Silva. Daughters, Louane, Priscila and Amanda, Stepsons Daniel and Peter Campbell and their families; Grandson Benicio, two sons-in-law Alan and Dave; Sisters Marlene of Brazil, Bernadette of Grand Cayman and Rosa of Brazil; Brothers Gideon and Juarez of Brazil; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and special friends including Luzia of Brazil, Michael Tatum of Grand Cayman and the Jack Dittman family of the United States. Graveside Service Opening Remarks...Pastor Michael Irby Prayer... Pastor Michael Irby Laying Floral Tributes... Family and Friends Committal...Pastor Michael Irby Hymns... I ll Fly Away In the Sweet By and By Benediction... Pastor Michael Irby In the sweet by and by There's a land that is fairer than day, And by faith we can see it afar; For the Father waits over the way To prepare us a dwelling place there. Chorus: In the sweet by and by, We shall meet on that beautiful shore; In the sweet by and by, We shall meet on that beautiful shore. We shall sing on that beautiful shore The melodious songs of the blessed; And our spirits shall sorrow no more, Not a sigh for the blessing of rest. To our bountiful Father above, We will offer our tribute of praise For the glorious gift of His love And the blessings that hallow our days I ll Fly Away Some glad morning when this life is o'er, I'll fly away; To a home on God's celestial shore, I'll fly away (I'll fly away). Chorus I'll fly away, Oh Glory I'll fly away; (in the morning) When I die, Hallelujah, by and by, I'll fly away (I'll fly away). When the shadows of this life have gone, I'll fly away; Like a bird from prison bars has flown, I'll fly away (I'll fly away) Just a few more weary days and then, I'll fly away; To a land where joy shall never end, I'll fly away (I'll fly away) Acknowledgements The family of the late Dilson Barbosa Silva would like to express their deepest gratitude and appreciation for all the love, support and kindness that has been shared during this time of bereavement.
