EARLY BULLETIN DEADLINES Due to the Thanksgiving, Christmas holidays and staff vacation please note the following early submission deadlines for the bulletin in November The bulletin for November 25th and December 2nd will be a combined edition submissions due Monday, November 12th December 9th bulletin submissions due Tuesday, November 27th December 16th bulletin submissions due Wednesday, December 5th More dates coming soon! Please use the bulletin e-mail! bulletin@stjohnevang.org This is a follow-up message regarding the trees in front of our parish. As a reminder, St. John s hired a licensed tree removal company to trim the pecan trees. Part of the fees that Saint John's paid to the company included obtaining the proper permit from the city arborist. The company did not get the needed permit. As a result, the company over-trimmed the trees and incurred a fine for not obtaining the appropriate permit. Our parish was then tasked to remove the remaining dead trees and replace them with new ones. Please join myself and the Parish Council in thanking the maintenance committee for taking on the daunting task to remove and clean up the old trees. The recommended plan is to replace the trees with miniature Magnolia trees. The miniature Magnolias will be beautiful in front of our parish and will not get too high and interfere with the power lines. We are looking to purchase 6 trees which will be 200 per tree. If you are interested in donating towards one (or more) of the trees, please contact the church office. If you have any other questions or concerns, please contact me. Thank you, Ryan Hogan WIN 500! Believe it or not, Christmas is just around the corner. To make your holiday a little brighter, the ladies of the Council of Catholic Women will be selling raffle tickets for a chance to win 500. Raffle tickets will be available for 5.00 each after all Masses on November 10 th 11 th. Drawing will be held on Sunday, December 2 nd. 6
