FAMILY CIRCLE Irene Armstrong: God called Irene home this past week. Her daughter said it best... We are going to miss her but I am so glad to know she is totally free from pain and sickness and with her Saviour Jesus!! Good thing is we get to see her again. The best is yet to come!! Our prayers go out to Bill and the family as she will be missed. The memorial service will be at our church tomorrow, Monday, November 12th at 11:00. Visitation will be before the service, in the fellowship hall, beginning at 10:00. There will also be a chance after the service to express your condolences as all are invited to stay for lunch. There is a sign up sheet in the hall please indicate how many in your party will be attending. We also need desserts and stuffing so please sign up for those. This is a MUST sign up event as we need to know numbers for food! The WALLACEBURG CHRISTIAN SCHOOL is once again offering their annual Poinsettia and Wreath fundraiser. These flower shop quality poinsettias are available in different sizes in red, white and pink. The wreaths are a fresh Fraser mix, and are available in small, medium and large. Thank you! BULLETIN / ADMIN. ASSISTANT POSITION: We give great thanks for all the hard work and effort that Janice Hooyer has done over the past 8 years filling the role as bulletin editor and providing administration support to our pastor and our church. Janice has expressed the desire to take some time off from her duties. Therefore council is asking if anyone in the congregation is willing to fill this position. The position requires 5-10 hours of time per week and includes producing the weekly bulletin as well as managing the church email account and supporting the pastor in an admin assistant capacity. The term of this position will last two years and will be reviewed at that time. Some of this work can be completed from home while some work will be completed from the church office. Janice is willing to train the successful applicant to learn all of the required tasks. Interested parties can contact Greg Devries at 519-360-0776 or at greg@cedarline.ca. Chairman Greg welcomed all of council and led in a devotion titled When a Loved One Goes Home to Jesus based on John 14 vs. 1-4. 2. The agenda was approved as presented. 3. The minutes were approved with amendments. 4. Matters arising and correspondence were discussed. 5. Ruby Williams has agreed to be our Neighbour- Link representative. 6. Pastor Andrew s Report was read and discussed. 7. The Elders Report included the visitation theme on 1 John 1:5-10 Walking in the Light. Pastor Andrew will preach on the theme in early January. 8. The Deacon s report detailed the work they have been doing and included an initiative to give 10 invitations to our Christmas Dinner. 9. A discussion was held on a request the chairman received from Janice Hooyer to step aside for a break from her bulletin editor/ administrative assistant duties. Janice s steady and excellent work over the past 8 years is deeply appreciated. 10. Committee reports were read and discussed. 11. Council s next meeting is Thursday, December 6, 2018 12. Brian closed the meeting in prayer. A WILL IS ON EVERYONE S TO-DO LIST: Some people have not yet put together a proper will. Others have done so, but with the passage of time, an update is needed. We are here to help! On Wednesday, November 28, 2018, Wallaceburg Christian School is hosting an Estate Planning Seminar at Wallaceburg Christian Reformed Church. You are invited to join us for dinner at 6pm (donations accepted). At 7pm, the Christian Stewardship Services (CSS) seminar leader will walk through the basic questions people have about will preparation and introduce some things you may not have thought about, but should. This helpful information will be of benefit regardless of which charities you want to include in your will. Attendees will also have the opportunity to secure the complimentary services of a local lawyer to set up or update your will.
