Bhagavat Geeta Why we read e Bhagavat Geeta, even if we can't understand it? An old farmer lived on a farm in e mountains wi his young grandson. Each morning, Grandpa was up early sitting at e kitchen table reading his Bhagavat Geeta. His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried to imitate him in every way he could. One day e grandson asked, "Grandpa! I try to read e Bhagawat Geeta just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand, I forget as soon as I close e book. What good does reading e Bhagawat Geeta do?" The grandfaer quietly turned from putting coal in e stove and replied, "Take is coal basket down to e river and bring me back a basket of water." The boy did as he was told, but all e water leaked out before he got back to e house. The grandfaer laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to e river wi e basket to try again". This time e boy ran faster, but again e basket was empty before here turned home. Out of brea, he told his grandfaer at it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead. The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just not trying hard enough," and he went out e door to watch e boy try again. At is point, e boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfaer at even if he ran as fast as he could, e water would leak out before he got back to e house. The boy again dipped e basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfaer e basket was again empty. Out of brea, he said, "See... it is useless!" "So you ink it is useless?" The old man said, "Look at e basket." The boy looked at e basket and for e first time realized at e basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out." "Son, at's what happens when you read e Bhagavat Geeta. You might not understand or remember everying, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is e work of GOD in our lives." From Internet Respected Teacher, Abraham Lincoln's Letter to his Son's Teacher My Son will have to learn, I know That all men are not just, all men are not true, but teach him also That for every scoundrel, ere is a Hero That for every selfish politician, ere is a dedicated leader Teach him at for every enemy, ere is a friend It will take time, I know; but teach him if you can That a doller earned is of far more value an five found Teach him to learn to lose and also enjoy winning Steer him away from envy, if you can Teach him e secret of quiet laughter Let him learn early at e Bullies are easiest to Lick Teach him if you can, e wonder of books... But also give Quiet time to ponder over e eternal mystery of birds in e sky, bees in e sun and flowers on a green hills - side In school teach him it is far more honourable to fail an to cheat Teach him to have fai in his own ideas even if everyone tells him ey are wrong Teach him to be gentle wi gentle people and tough wi e tough Try to give my son e streng not to follow e crowd when everyone is getting on e Bandwagon Teach him to listen to all men but teach him also to filter all he hears on a screen of tru and take only e good at comes rough Teach him, if you can,how to laugh when he is sad Teach him ere is no shame in tears Teach him to scoff at cynics and to beware of too much sweetness Teach him to sell his Brawn and Brain to e highest bidders, but never to put a price tag on his heart and soul Teach him to close his Ears to a Howling Mob...And to stand and Flight If he Thinks he is right Treat him gently; but do not cuddle him because only e test of Fire Makes Fine Steel Let him have e courage to be important Let him have e patience to be brave Teach him always to have sublime fai in himself because en he will always have sublime fai in mankind This is a bid order; but see what you can do He is such a fine little fellow, my son.
