Sermon Outline Part 2 Matthew 1:1, This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah the son of David, the son of Abraham. Luke 1:3-4 (NLT), Having carefully investigated everything from the beginning, I also have decided to write a careful account for you, most honorable Theophilus, so you can be certain of the truth of everything you were taught. John 1:1-2, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. John 1:3, Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. Observation #1: God always keeps His promises. Micah 5:2 (MSG), But you, Bethlehem, David s country, the runt of the litter from you will come the leader who will shepherd-rule Israel. He ll be no upstart, no pretender. His family tree is ancient and distinguished. Isaiah 7:14 (CEV), But the Lord will still give you proof. A virgin is pregnant; she will have a son and will name him Immanuel. Isaiah 53:5 (CEV), But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed. Psalm 22:16-18 (NLT), My enemies surround me like a pack of dogs; an evil gang closes in on me. They have pierced my hands and feet. I can count all my bones. My enemies stare at me and gloat. They divide my garments among themselves and throw dice for my clothing.

Sermon Notes Outline Observation #2: Before the world began, God had a plan to rescue His people Isaiah 7:14, "Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel. Luke 1:30-31 (CEV), Then the angel told Mary, Don t be afraid! God is pleased with you, and you will have a son. His name will be Jesus. Matthew 1:21, She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins. Luke 2:28-30 (CEV), Simeon took the baby in his arms and thanked God: Now, Lord, you can let me, your servant, die in peace as you said. With my own eyes I have seen your salvation Luke 2:38 (NIV), Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem. Romans 3:23-25 NCV, Everyone has sinned and fallen short of God's glorious standard, and all need to be made right with God by his grace, which is a free gift. They need to be made free from sin through Jesus Christ. God sent him to die in our place to take away our sins. We receive forgiveness through faith in the blood of Jesus' death. Reflection
