Thirty-Second Sunday in Ordinary Time November 11, 2018 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. The pealing bell calls us to worship, reminding us to quiet our hearts and minds as we prepare for the worship of the living God. Opportunities in Church Life The Gathering of the People of God Prelude Prelude in G Major (BVW 541) Johann S. Bach Call to Worship (from Psalm 146) One: Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord, O my soul! All: I will praise the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God all my life long. One: The Lord sets prisoners free and lifts up those who are bowed down. DARWALL S 148TH Call to Confession The Confession of the People of God Unison Prayer of Confession Forgive us, Lord, when we think too highly of ourselves and clamor after privilege and honor. Forgive us, Lord, when we cannot lift our gaze because we do not believe we have anything to give. And forgive us when we fail to open our eyes to the abundant life you make possible. Have mercy on our foolishness and heal our lovesick hearts, that we may live faithfully for you. In Jesus name we pray. The prayer continues in a time of silent confession. * All who are able please stand. GTG = Glory to God Hymnal

It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves. We are his people and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. Be thankful unto him and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting, and his truth endureth to all generations.
