With all the food allergies that are in our environment today there are sometimes people who are allergic to gluten. We now provide a gluten free host to those individuals. You must speak to Father Bill to let him know that you need gluten free host and it will be made available to you. If you are attending Annunciation and are not registered with the Parish as a member, we have no idea if you are a participating Catholic or not, so please register and if you can not afford to give monetarily please put a prayer card in the offertory so that we know you are attending. Also for all of you who pay by cash we really appreciate it but if you would put it in an envelope we could track that you are attending as well. It is important when it comes to all the Sacraments. We can not say you are active if we do not know. Thank you Bishop s Annual Appeal Letters have gone out. Prayerfully consider contributing. They should participate regularly in the celebration of the Sunday Eucharist and practice their Catholic Faith. A reader should also be a registered member of the parish. Prison Ministry Carteret Correctional Center During this Extraordinary Jubilee Year of Mercy, Pope Francis s wishes to extend Christ s word and mercy (Plenary Indulgence) to all, even the incarcerated and shut-ins. And the Pope adds meaning to his letter and intentions on bringing Christ s mercy to all by washing the feet of the incarcerated on Holy Thursdays. This past December, Catholic Prison Ministry was re-started at the Carteret Correctional Center (CCC), Newport, NC after a lapse of several years. CCC is a North Carolina Minimum Security prison. The Catholic Services are conducted 6-7pm on Tuesday nights. The ministry is supported by Deacons and Volunteers from three parishes within the New Bern and Newton Grove Deaneries and includes reviewing of Catholic teaching (catechesis), review of scripture readings of the day or Sunday Mass; as well as, Confession and Mass/Communion or Communion Services. Volunteers are needed to enable the ministry to be consistently conducted on a weekly basis and assist those driving from extended distances to support the program. Some of these volunteers are supporting Prison Ministry at three prisons within 100 miles. Anyone interested in volunteering or inquiring about the Prison Ministry program at CCC is asked to call the parish office or contact Jim Strange. Who are the Men of St. Joseph? We, the Men of St. Joseph, are a group of Catholic men dedicated to becoming the spiritual leaders of our families by strengthening our faith and being real world examples of Christ. Our group bolsters discussion of faith and prayer life specifically for men, giving men new ways to reflect upon their lives and be better servants to God and their family. The result is nothing less than a revived culture, the same culture that Pope John Paul II called the Culture of Life. Our mission is To put the family in the hands of the Father. We believe it is time for men to step up and take a leadership role in guiding their families, friends, parishes and their communities towards Christ and the fullness of His Catholic Church. We welcome you to join us on this journey on Sunday nights. We meet at the Knights of Columbus House at 6:00pm and start with dinner. Please contact Jason Gordon 252-622-8079 or pardus108@hotmail.com for more information.

Tithing is considered by the diocese and the U.S. Bishops as contributing 10% of one s gross annual salary to others in proportions much like these: 5% to your parish + 1% to your diocese in the form of the BAA + 4% to other charities of their choice and interest.
