Guest Speaker: Dr. Brian Davis Associate Executive Director-Treasurer Baptist State Convention of NC The redefining of marriage in our nation has been a concern to many of us and our churches. Many have asked how we can clearly and lovingly state our position on marriage in such a way that our churches can best face legal challenges that may come. At 7:00 pm on Tuesday, February 16 Brian Davis will be in our Association to discuss these issues with all interested church leaders. Brian is the Associate Executive Director-Treasurer for the Baptist State Convention and is knowledgeable of best practices for stating our beliefs about marriage in such a way that our churches can better face legal challenges to our policies when such challenges come. This conference will take place at Durham Memorial Baptist Church located at 133 Robbins Road. Please invite all your church leaders who may be involved in framing policies, constitution and bylaws, and other such documents. Brian will help us consider where to place marriage statements in our church documents and how to best frame these statements. 3
