MAY ALLAH ACCEPT YOUR SACRIFICES The Companions of the Messenger of Allah asked, O Messenger of Allah, what are these sacrifices? He said, The Sunnah of your father Ibrahim ( alayhis-salaam). They asked, What is there in them for us, O Messenger of Allah? He said, For every hair, one reward. They asked, And for wool, O Messenger of Allah? He said, For every strand of wool, one reward. (Musnad Ahmad) Qurbani is one of the great rituals in Islam, prescribed in the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger. Implementing this great act for thousands of donors has become a huge project for Ummah Welfare Trust each year, alhamdulillah This year was no different. Thanks to you, Ummah Welfare Trust sacrificed over 12,800 animals for poor families across the Ummah. The blessings of Eid ul Adha reached thousands of Muslims across 19 countries. YOUR QURBANI IN ASIA The joys of Eid were brought to thousands of Muslims across Asia this year. From Afghanistan to the Philippines, poor families were given fresh Udhiyyah to enjoy, alhamdulillah. The largest programme took place in Afghanistan. Here 4,355 animals were sacrificed, over 500 of which were cows, and distributed to poor families across rural Kandahar, Ghazni, Nangahar and Badakhshan. Across the border, the meat of over a thousand animals was enjoyed in Pakistan s districts of KPK, Punjab and Sindh. A further 420 sacrficed animals were also delivered to poverty-stricken families in Azad Kashmir. Thousands of miles east, 2,600 cows were sacrificed in the Sunderbans area of West Bengal, India. The Udhiyyah meat was distributed across hundreds of villages, with each cow sufficing for hundreds of Muslims, alhamdulillah. In neighbouring Bangladesh, 104 animals were sacrificed and its meat distributed to the flood victims in Dinajpur and Panchargarh. Animals were meanwhile sacrificed and distributed to thousands of families in Nepal and the South Philippines. And not forgetting Burma, over 200 cows were sacrificed for Muslims here. Meat was distributed in the districts of Ayarwaddy, Yangon, and Arakan where our Rohingya brothers and sisters continue to be persecuted. 9,019 animals sacrificed 4 Qurbani 2017 Report

YOUR QURBANI IN THE MIDDLE EAST In Syria, denied food and medicines, a million civilians remain trapped under sieges. Ummah Welfare Trust wanted to make Eid special for many of these victims. Thanks to you the charity sacrificed 1,282 rams for families here this year. Animals were sacrificed in Ghouta, Homs, Dara a, East Qalamoun and Idlib. Alhamdulillah, joy and normality were brought to thousands of warweary Muslims. In Iraq, Ummah Welfare Trust provided Udhiyyah to 470 displaced families. Families in Baghdad and Anbar, surviving in slums or tent camps, were helped. And in Gaza, besieged for over 10 years, 120 sheep and 20 cattle were sacrificed, bringing happiness to over 2,000 families. Alhamdulillah, 400 goats were also sacrificed in Yemen, the land of faith and wisdom. Struggling families in Sana a, Aden, Tai z, and refugees in Hodeida, were given meat to enjoy Eid s blessed days. 1,840 animals sacrificed 6 Qurbani 2017 Report

YOUR QURBANI IN AFRICA Over 1,800 animals were sacrificed for poor families across the African continent this year, alhamdulillah. Qurbani programmes took place in Gambia, Malawi and Sudan, and for the first time in Sierra Leone and Madagascar. The largest programme was in central Malawi, where over 1,280 goats were sacrificed for families in the Mangochi district. Not far from here, on the island of Madagascar, 50 cows were sacrificed for families and madrassahs in the impoverished district of Vohipeno. Further north, animals were sacrificed for hundreds of refugee families in East Sudan. While across the continent in West Africa, hundreds of animals were sacrificed for flood victims in Sierra Leone and for rural Muslims in Gambia. 1,898 animals sacrificed 7 Qurbani 2017 Report
