I thank God for His goodness to me. It is exactly one year since I retired and I have been resting at home joyfully. I thanked God during Song Service for helping me to recover and the smooth cancer journey walk three years ago. I will not forget God s mercy and goodness God toward me. Thank God I am still alive. Last Sunday, I brought mee hoon, Tiong Bahru fish balls, curry chicken and tahu goreng to church. It was my thanksgiving to God. With the help of Helen, Evangeline, Dolly, Irene Ling, Christine Lye, my hubby and Eunice, I thanked my brothers & sisters-in-christ for their love for me. I was delighted to see brethren of the same faith in church rejoicing with me on this wonderful and joyful Sunday. All praise and thanks be to God for watching over me. To God be the Glory! Next year is a challenge for me. May God continue to help me. Sis Quek Siew Lee I would like to thank the Pastors, Elders, Session & friends for their care and prayerful support. My fall on 23 August landed me with a fractured heel. I saw the doctor on 29 Oct. X-ray showed my bone was healing and I have started walking with an air cast boot. Praise The Lord! I will see the doctor again on 28 December. God Willing, the doctor will discharge me then. Thank God from Whom all blessings flow! WELCOME TO GALILEE CHURCH! Testimony of Thanksgiving. I will praise Thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all Thy marvellous works. Psalm 9:1 T here are so many events to be grateful and thankful to God whenever I recalled His goodness and blessings in my life. I thank God for His mercy and grace and more importantly, for sending His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ to die an atoning sacrifice on the Cross for our sins, all because of His immense love for us. Beginning of this year, my eyes deteriorated due to my current medications. My vision was blurred and not stabilized, I thought that I was losing my eyesight. Almost every fortnightly, I had to visit the optician to change my spectacles -- until he advised me to go for a proper check-up with an ophthalmologist who could diagnose and treat my condition. I went to NUH Eye Clinic. The doctor dilated my pupils to examine my eyes and confirmed that both my eyes were developing cataract whereby the lens have started to become cloudy, and he advised me to go for an operation to replace the lens. On 10 September, I had my first operation on my right eye and on 15 October, I had my second operation on my left eye. The procedure took only 20 minutes and now I am able to see clearly again. It will take another 4 to 6 weeks for the eyes to fully heal and recover. I thank God for the successful operations on both my eyes. Thank God for a very skilled, patient and caring surgeon who constantly assured and calmed me during the operation, as I was quite nervous. I was given only local anesthesia through eye drops to numb my eyes and I was wide awake during the operations. Thank God by His grace and mercy, I regained my vision and now, I could see all things clearly, bright and beautiful. Thank God also for His Word that filled me with many reminders which helped me to focus back on Him instead of on my problems and myself. The Word of God constantly reminds me that God is in control (Luke 12:7) and I recognized that I do not know about my tomorrow but I know that Jesus holds my tomorrow and He holds my hand. I need to constantly trust and depend on Him from day to day. The LORD is my Strength and my Shield; my heart trusted in Him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise Him. (Psalm 28:7) No matter what I face, I thank God for the providence that I can always find comfort and help in Him. God does not just work to change my situations but He changes my heart to focus my mind just on Him, and to know His amazing power which helps me constantly in my journey with Him. GALILEE CHURCH ADULTS FELLOWSHIP RETREAT @ Kulai Homestay 26 & 27 October 2018 Thank God for a blessed time of fellowship and bonding at Kulai, Johor, during our recent Adults Fellowship Retreat at the Kulai Homestay. The objective of this Retreat was to provide an opportunity for AF members to unwind from their daily busy schedules at work or home; to fellowship and build a closer bond with each other. A total number of 20 members participated in our Retreat. We were blessed with a pleasant and cosy venue at Kulai Homestay. They were very kind in giving us the exclusive use of their lounge area for our group meetings. Pastor Simon gave a short exhortation after dinner while Elder Richard Ng led us in morning devotions the following day. Some of our Retreat activities included visits to a Fish Farm and exploring the mural arts of Kelapa Sawit village. We also had the opportunity of visiting two sister churches -- Kulai B-P Fellowship and Kelapa Sawit B-P Church - and were warmly welcomed by the Pastors. Thank God for His providence and journeying mercies throughout the trip. On the whole, it was a fruitful Retreat where everybody enjoyed the Christian fellowship, food and bonding.
