Updates Missions Focus: Derek & Chelsea Jung (InterVarsity, Shasta College, Redding) From BACBC bulletin: Derek & Chelsea will be visiting with us on 9/23 - so look for them! In the update, there's a note from one of the students to thank us for helping to provide spiritual help for her through our support of our ministry. Exciting that the students leaders had a huge goal to get a chance to touch lives during tabling at Shasta College! Only God could answer this goal and He did provide more people who were willing to talk with the IV team! If you have facebook, you can ask to be added to their partner group and get updates that way! More Details: latest -> earliest updates -email update -some news from Facebook postings -copy of recent newsletter -thank you from the Jungs and one of the Shasta students they worked with last year!

new vision for reaching students View this email in your browser Real Hope at Shasta College and Beyond God loves every student and faculty member who is about to step onto campus for fall semester at Shasta College. That's why student leaders and ourselves have spent hours praying and preparing for New Student Outreach, which starts Monday, 8/20. We want each person to feel welcome to join us as they are and to experience the hope found in Christ. We can't wait to welcome them into our community! We are also excited that InterVarsity is officially on 695 campuses near our all-time high which means thousands will be welcomed to campus by an InterVarsity chapter this

fall. But God has also been breaking our hearts as an organization for the hundreds of campuses across the US that don't have any known witnessing community. In response, the Lord has given InterVarsity a bold picture for the next 12 years, our 2030 Calling: Longing for revival, we catalyze movements that call every corner of every campus to follow Jesus. By the year 2030, we hope to see diverse witnessing communities on all 2,500 US campuses that have over 1,000 students. Even more, we're praying for God to bring revival, along with: 71,500 multiplying small groups 134,000 new followers of Jesus 4,000,000 partners praying 12,000,000 reached for the Gospel Partner with Us This is a big calling, so we need help, now and throughout the next 12 years. You have been such a faithful friend and partner to us. Would you consider partnering today in one or both of the following ways? 1. Pray for New Student Outreach at Shasta College that God would connect us with students and faculty who need the hope of Jesus. Would you also commit to pray regularly for the Lord to bring revival on our campus and on other campuses across the nation? 2. Give a gift to support the Lord s work at Shasta College. Your gifts enable us to serve students at Shasta as well as engage other campuses that don't currently have a witnessing community. You could become a monthly donor, increase the monthly amount you already give, or give a special one-time fit to help us start the school year strong. Thank you for your care for us and for college students and faculty! Some Facebook message posts (summarized and abbreviated) 8/18/2018 our Fall Outreach Launch, our student leaders and apprentices made goals for the new student outreach (first month of the semester) and for the semester as a whole. While we were tempted to see these goals as exceedingly ambitious, we are reminded that God can

do anything! Please be praying for Jesus to exceed these goals and for us to be bold and faithful as outreach starts! Goals: 135 contact cards (people interested in Bible study), 750 invitations to Bible Study and community events By the end of the semester: 3 new student apprentices/leaders, 15 students decide to follow Jesus! August 20 183 students invited, 22 filled out contact cards August 21 357 students invited, 40 filled out contact cards August 23 a Mormon woman saw their outreach and asked for prayer -spent 3 hours in the dorms, bringing cookies and flyers, hanging out After one week, 850 invitations and 88 students contact cards, knocked on every dorm room August 28 18 students attended Tuesday commuter bible study the largest group ever! August 29 first Wednesday Commuter Bible study 7 students, mostly new ones! August 31 the Mormon woman returned and signed up for bible study as well as convinced another student to sign up! Hello Ministry partner, I have had such a wonderful time with InverVarsity during my 3 years at Shasta. I have grown in my spiritual ways thanks to all the bible studies, conferences, and functions with my friends. I'm grateful that InterVarsity exists and for the great people who keep it going. Thank you so much for everything! *Nicole Sutherland Dear BACBC, Thank you for your continued partnership. This year we saw 9 decisions of faith, 3 Bible studies planted and 5 leaders raised up. Here is a thank you from one of our students. Your partnership is changing lives through the Gospel! Thanks & Joy, Derek & Chelsea Jung received 6/2018
