Abiding Savior Preschool News For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness continues through all generations. Psalm 100:5 September 21, 2015 Our Mission: Communicating Christ s Love to everyone, everywhere; and our love for Him. Director s Note Mrs. Molly Nagel is our spotlight teacher this week. I've been an early childhood educator for 25 years since our own boys were very young. I graduated from Valparaiso University with a degree in elementary education (they hadn't invented early childhood education yet!) but my heart's desire was always to work with the youngest of God's children. My greatest joy is to see when a concept "clicks" with a child and they understand the excitement that comes from learning something new! Of course, the fact that they re awfully cute and offer pure, simple testaments to their faith in God makes it a lot of fun, too! In 1980 my husband Kit and I were married and moved from Ohio to the East Coast where we lived for 30 years. Our two sons, Jonathan and James, were born in 1986 and 1987 and enjoyed a small town upbringing in the wilds of Connecticut. We moved to Concordia College- NY, just ½ hour north of Times Square, where my husband taught Marketing and I was the preschool director and taught for 11 years at The Chapel School/Village Lutheran Church across the street. I was honored to be awarded Preschool Educator of the Year by the Tri-State Lutheran Schools Association in 2005. In 2011, our sons now grown, Kit accepted a position at Concordia Irvine to teach global marketing. I was thrilled to find a home at Abiding Savior where I could share my love for the Lord and get back to the classroom where the fun really is! Our sons now live out here on the West Coast. Jonathan works for Panasonic- North America selling technology to police and fire departments. This summer we were blessed by his marriage to Judy Pang, a physical therapist with Kaiser Permanente, and they now reside in Santa Monica. Our son James, a solar engineer, is taking a leave of absence from his job and is currently hiking the Pacific Crest Trail. He left the Mexican border on April 16 th and headed north; he is currently in Washington State, avoiding the wildfires and airborne ash. He hopes to reach Canada around Oct. 12. Please keep him (and all of us) in your prayers! God s Blessings! Pam Howard

He loves us. He helps us. Bible Words to Remember: The Lord has promised good things. Numbers 10:29 Think About It: Read more about Noah in Genesis 6-8. Remember, even when you have troubles all around you, God is near. God will remember you! He will be with you and bless you! Family Application: Pictures of Noah and the ark are always fun to see because of all the cute animals. But there is so much more to the story. God s actions show what is most significant. Though they were surrounded by evil, Noah and his family were protected by God s care as they huddled in the ark for more than a month of stormy days. And when the flood waters receded, God placed a rainbow in the sky to remind Noah, his family, and your family God s faithfulness to His promises. God used the wooden ship to rescue Noah during the flood. But even more important, God rescues us all through the wooden cross on which Jesus died to save us from our sins. The rainbow is a sign of God s promise. Even more so, Christ s empty tomb at Easter tells us of God s promise of eternal life in heaven! When your family faces stormy weather or stormy situations, huddle together in God s grace, knowing that He is near, He will be with you, and He will do what is best at the time that is right.
