For more information: Micah s Way (714) 667-7110 or info@micahsway.org Dear Parishioners, Today we celebrate the Feast of Pentecost. This is the day that the Holy Spirit came to the apostles and the whole church to be the advocate for all times. In the gospel we hear once again during this Easter season that Jesus appeared to the disciples in the locked room. He greeted them with words of peace and breathed on them giving them the gift of the Holy Spirit. As Jesus breathed on the first apostles, he commissioned them to go into the whole world and continue His mission. He specifically gave them authority to forgive sins which is the institution of the sacrament of Reconciliation. The church today continues to be guided by the Holy Spirit and it is this same spirit that we receive when we receive the sacrament of Confirmation. It is the Holy Spirit that continues to breath life into our church. The pope, bishops, priests and all of the baptized are guided by the Holy Spirit. When we speak in the name of the church, we are speaking in the name of Jesus and guided in our speech and actions by the Holy Spirit. I pray that we may all use wisely and generously these gifts of the spirit that we received in Confirmation. Fr. George Pastoral Services Appeal 2018 Thank you to all who have already participated in this year s PSA.
