The best way to prepare for the end, is to be faithful now. When we live each day by the Word of God, and love one another as Jesus asks of us, the future will be nothing to fear. Our St. Vincent de Paul group met last week with a young lady who was starting her first full-time job after graduating from NWTC. Her parents were proud but unable to help her with transportation to her new job. Thanks to your help, we provided her with a $35 bus pass for the month of November. REMEMBER: COFFEE & DONUTS THIS SUNDAY AFTER THE 10:00am MASS! Dear Parish Family & Friends, Welcome to the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Time. The month of November is the time when the Church prayerfully remembers those who have gone before us. We mourn their loss, we pray for their souls, we hope to be reunited with them when we ourselves die. As it is the end of the liturgical year (it will begin anew in two weeks with Advent), we also bring to mind the end of time. Though we cannot know the day nor the hour, our trust and hope is in the Lord. Let The Word Speak To You Today: The readings today focus on the end of time. Daniel prophesies about the resurrection of those who have already died, a radical notion in his day. The author of Hebrews emphasizes that Jesus' sacrifice on the cross atoned for our sins, for all people, for all time. In Mark s Gospel, Jesus warns His disciples of the terrible signs of the end of time, and reassures them that God's elect will be gathered from the ends of the earth. May these promises allow us to face the future with hope. Question of The Week: How does not knowing when the end will come change the way I live my life? SOLEMNITY OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY Each year, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation and the Patronal Feastday of the USA. We remember that Mary, "full of grace" through God, was redeemed from the moment of her conception, and that the Father blessed Mary more than any other created human person with a special place in the heavens. This year is unique, as December 8TH falls on a Saturday. In order to celebrate this important feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, as well as continue on our Advent journey as a Church - marked by 4 unique Sundays, we as Catholics participate in two Masses on the weekend of December 8th and 9th. Masses for the Immaculate Conception will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Angels at 6:00pm on Friday, Dec. 7th, And here at Ss. Peter & Paul on Saturday Dec. 8th at 8:30am. The 4pm Mass on Saturday, as well as the Masses on Sunday, will be celebrated for the 2nd. Week of Advent. Let us gather at either parish church to celebrate this doctrine of our faith. Noticias Fiesta de San Juan Diego El Domingo 9 de Diciembre es la fiesta de San Juan Diego invitamos a los niños a venir vestidos de San Juan Diego y a las niñas a venir vestidas de nuestra Señora de Guadalupe para conmemorar la fiesta de San Juan Diego. Después de la Misa tendremos un convivio los invitamos a traer algo para compartir. Novena a nuestra Señora de Guadalupe La novena dará comienzo el día 3 de diciembre a las 6:00 pm, en el templo hasta el día 11 de diciembre el único cambio será el domingo 9 que la novena se rezara a las 12:00 del mediodía.
