A Basic Daily Prayer Method KEY VERSE: Acts 2:42 And they con+nued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Psalm 72:15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him con+nually; and daily shall he be praised Mathew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread Luke 9:23 And he said to them all, If any man will come aber me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Acts 5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ. Acts 16:5 And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily. Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Hebrews 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceihulness of sin.

ADORATION There is a significant difference between praise and adora+on. Praise focuses on deeds, adora+on focuses on character. Adora+on celebrates who God is. Thus, a prayer of adora+on prays back to God who He is. Adora+on is expressed in praise and worship. Oh, how we adore Him! We give honor to God according to His excellent greatness! This type of worship is a result of focusing on the Lord s arributes such as love, grace, mercy, strength, wisdom, holiness, and power. Prayer Sample: 1 Chronicles 29:10-13 Therefore David blessed the Lord before all the assembly; and David said: Blessed are You, Lord God of Israel, our Father, forever and ever. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all. Now therefore, our God, We thank You And praise Your glorious name.

Why should we adore God? 1 Chronicles 16:25 For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods. Psalms 50:23 Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversa+on aright will I shew the salva+on of God. Psalms 147:1 Praise ye the Lord: for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant; and praise is comely. Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God con+nually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. RevelaWon 19:5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. How should we praise God? Psalms 47:7For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding Psalms 48:1 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding Psalms 66:2 Sing forth the honour of his name: make his praise glorious.

A Praise Anthem! Psalms 150 - Praise ye the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the +mbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord. AddiWonal Scriptures: Deuteronomy 10:20-21 Deuteronomy 32:4 2 Samuel 7:22 2 Samuel 22:47 1 Chronicles 16:23-25 Nehemiah 9:5-6 Psalm 7:17 Psalm 9:1-2 Psalm 57:9-11 Psalm 63:1-7 Psalm 66:1-4 Psalm 63:1-7 Psalm 66:1-4 Psalm 71:14-24 Psalm 92: 1-2 Psalm 95: 3-6 Psalm 96 Psalm 103: 19-22 Psalm 113 Psalm 115: 1 Psalm 145 Psalm 146: 1-6 Psalm 148 Psalm 63:1-7 Luke 1: 46,47

CONFESSION The prayer of confession is acknowledging to God that you have sinned, and that you need his forgiveness and mercy. 1 John 1:9 Confess your sins to the Lord, He is faithful and just and will forgive your sins and purify you from all unrighteousness. True confession is accompanied by a strong desire to overcome the weakness leading to the sin. Godly sorrow leads to a level of repentance founded in a commitment to live for him, completely. Prayer Sample: Psalm 256,11 Remember not the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you are good, O Lord...For the sake of your name, O Lord, forgive my iniquity, though it is great. Psalm 51:1-2 Have mercy on me, O God,, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

Confessing Our Sins Nehemiah 1:6 Let thine ear now be aren+ve, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned. Psalms 32:5 I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Mark 1:5 And there went out unto him all the land of Judaea, and they of Jerusalem, and were all bap+zed of him in the river of Jordan, confessing their sin 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Confessing His Lordship Philippians 2:11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 1 John 4:2-3 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of an+christ, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 4:15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 2 John 1:7 For many deceivers are entered into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an an+christ. AddiWonal Scriptures: 2 Samuel 24: 10 Psalm 25: 6, 11 Psalm 32: 3-5 Psalm 38: 17-18 Psalm 51: 1-10 Psalm 103: 8-14 Psalm 130: 1-4 Isaiah 1: 18-20 Isaiah 59: 12-13 Jonah 2: 1-10 1 John 1:8-10

THANKSGIVING When you give thanks to God you recognize His sovereign authority. This prayer is very humble in nature expressing gra+tude for the underserved blessing and mercy of God. The spiritual benefits associated with being His child are innumerable. His blessings arrive daily. We realize that He is the giver of life, the source of blessings, and the provider of grace. Our hearts are full with the knowledge of His suffering upon the cross. We could not thank Him enough for His uncondi+onal love. Prayer Sample: Psalm 100 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are is; we are His people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name. For the Lord is good and His love endures forever; His faithfulness con+nues through all genera+ons. Psalm 75:1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.

A Heart Of Thanks 1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks unto the LORD, call upon his name, make known his deeds among the people. Psalms 75:1 Unto thee, O God, do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare. Psalms 107:1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever Psalms 140:13 Surely the righteous shall give thanks unto thy name: the upright shall dwell in thy presence. Thanksgiving At Communion Luke 22:18-20 For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, un+l the kingdom of God shall come. And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me. Likewise also the cup aber supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. 1 Corinthians 11:24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.

Victorious Thanksgiving 1 Corinthians 15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. RevelaWon 11:17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O LORD God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. Thanksgiving In All Things 1 Thessalonians 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. AddiWonal Scriptures: 2 Samuel 22:48-50 1 Chronicles 16:8-12 1 Chronicles 16:23-26 1 Chronicles 29:10-13 Ezra 3:11-13 Psalm 23: 6 Psalm 50: 14 Psalm 50: 23 Psalm 69: 30 Psalm 95: 1, 2 Psalm 100 Psalm 103 Psalm 118:28-29 Psalm 124 Romans 1:21 1Corinthians 11:24-26 2 Corinthians 4:15-18 1 Timothy 2:1-4 1 Peter1:3-9 Colossians 3:17 Colossians 4:21 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Hebrews 13:15 Revela+on 11:17

SUPPLICATION Supplica+on means to make a humble, yet bold request to God. Unlike the prayer of pe++on, which is praying on behalf of others, the prayer of supplica+on is generally a request by and for the person praying. We are certainly encouraged by the scripture to enter into supplica+on. Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplica+on with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Prayer Sample: Psalm 4:1 For Mercy Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. Psalm 5:8 For Leading Lead me, O Lord, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face. Psalm 6:4 For Deliverance Return, O Lord, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake. Psalm 7:1 Deliverance From Persecu+on O Lord my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me: thy wondrous works declare.

SupplicaWon For Gods Help 2 Chronicles 6:35 Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplicawon, and maintain their cause. Psalms 119:170 Let my supplicawon come before thee: deliver me according to thy word. SupplicaWon For Mercy Daniel 9:18 O my God, incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desola+ons, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplicawons before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies. Psalms 30:10 Hear, O LORD, and have mercy upon me: LORD, be thou my helper. SupplicaWon For Others Ephesians 6:18 Praying always with all prayer and supplicawon in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplicawon for all saints; 1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplicawons, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

SupplicaWon For Our Own Needs Philippians 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplicawon with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Mathew 6:31-33 take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For aber all these things do the Gen+les seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. AddiWonal Scriptures: 1 Chronicles 4:10 2 Chronicles 20:9 Psalm 18:16-19 Psalm 62:7-8 Psalm 116:1-7 Psalm 119:169-170 Psalm 142 Psalm 143:7-12 MaRhew 6:9-13 John 17:14-26 Romans 15:30 Ephesians 3: 14-21 Ephesians 6: 11-18 Colossians 1: 9-12 Colossians 4: 2-4 1 Timothy 2: 1-4 Philippians 4: 6-7 Hebrews 4: 16 James 1: 5-7 James 5: 13-14 James 5: 16 1 Peter 4: 7

Daily Prayer Devotion Adora+on Today I Praise God: Confession Today I Repent For: Thanksgiving Today I Am Thankful For: Supplica+on Today I Ask For:

Three Powerful Prayer MeeWngs In The Book Of Acts Prayer Number One - Prayer MeeWng Because Of PersecuWon In The Church. Acts 4:24-31 A.C.T.S. DAILY PRAYER GUIDE And when they heard that, they libed up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pon+us Pilate, with the Gen+les, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Prayer Number Two - Prayer MeeWng Because The Apostle Peter Had Been Arrested And Put In Jail Acts 12:3-5, 6-11 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending aber Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him Acts 12:6-11 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.... And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expecta+on of the people of the Jews.

Prayer Number Three Paul And Silas Prayed When They Were Beaten And Put In Prison Acts 16:25-34 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the founda+ons of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed. And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled. But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here. Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas, And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house. And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was bap+zed, he and all his, straightway. And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
