PT 2 Trumpets of God I. Review: Through out scripture, in both New & Old Testament we discover that whenever God was about to do something new & something major there was always a TRUMPET BLAST: A. Understanding the Prophetic meaning of the sounding of a trumpet: 1. Trumpet blast is prophetic of the VOICE OF GOD 2. Trumpet may be the voice or sound of an actual or spiritual trumpet blown 3. Trumpet may be the sound of the voice of the servant of God: a. Preaching / Teaching the Word of God b. or giving a Prophetic Word B. The Purpose or Reason for the sound of the trumpet is many: 1. Trumpets are blown for warning and the sound of an alarm 2. Trumpets are blown for a call to war / battle 3. Trumpets are blown to gather the saints of God for assembly 4. Trumpets are blown at the announcement of & celebration of the Feasts in scripture 5. Trumpets are blown for announcing blessings or judgment 6. Trumpets are blown when a new leader or king was set into office 7. Trumpets will be are blown at the gathering of the saints for the Rapture 8. Trumpets will be blown at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ C. It is important that we understand that there are both natural & spiritual trumpets 1. The issue is not: will trumpets be blown 2. The real issue is: do we have the spiritual ears to hear the sound of these trumpets? a. Jesus said: Luke 8:8 "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" 3. Have we developed our spiritual ears to hear these spiritual trumpets? a. Be it the trumpet of the Voice of God thru someone preaching The Word of God b. The trumpet of the Voice of God thru a Prophetic Word spoken c. Or the Trumpet of the voice of God / blast of the Trumpet of God blown by an angel of The Lord D. Look whom gave the responsibility to blow the silver trumpets: Num 10:8 The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; 1. Aaron and His four sons had the responsibility to blow the trumpets a. Arron plus four sons 4 + 1= 5. Are a type & shadow of the FIVE FOLD MINISTRY of Eph 4:11: Apostle, Prophet, Evangelist, Pastor, Teacher (1) As these Five Fold Ministry Gifts preach the Word of God & give a Prophetic Word

(2) God will use their voices as a trumpet and signal the ADVANCE (a) for the local church (b) and even confirms God s advancement for your life & ministry (1) Lk 8:8 He who has ears to hear, let him hear II. In scripture a trumpet blast was sounded for the assembling of God s people: Num 10:3 When they blow both of them, all the congregation shall gather before you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. Num 10:4 But if they blow only one, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, shall gather to you A. One trumpet blast was for gathering the Leadership 1. Great sacrifice is required of those who serve in various leadership capacities within the church. Requires more of your time & life: a. There will be times when the pastor must sound the trumpet to gather the leaders 2. The other trumpet blast was for gathering all of the congregation: a. note where they assembled: at the door of the tabernacle of meeting (1) in Acts 7:38 Israel is called: that was in the church in the wilderness (a) Israel s gathering as a congregation at the door of the tabernacle of meeting (1) They did not just meet in their homes / tents (2) They did not just watch pastor Moses on Television or internet (3) They assembled / gathered at the Door of the Tabernacle of Meeting (a) A prophetic picture & spiritual principle that applies to the New testament Church III. We also see this principle of the people of gather assembling once again in: Ex 19:17-20 17 And Moses brought the people out of the camp to meet with God, and they stood at the foot of the mountain. 18 Now Mount Sinai was completely in smoke, because the Lord descended upon it in fire. Its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly. 19 And when the blast of the trumpet sounded long and became louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by voice. 20 Then the Lord came down upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the mountain. And the Lord called Moses to the top of the mountain, and Moses went up. Ex 20:18 Now all the people witnessed the thundering, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they

trembled and stood afar off. 19 Then they said to Moses, "You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us A. God s original plan for the children was not to have one tribe to serve as priests 1. Rather: God intended that all of Israel, every tribe become a Kingdom of priests a. Ex 19:5.. then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.' 2. At Mt Sinai Israel rejected the call of God upon their lives: a. when they heard the sound of the trumpet to assemble as the church in the wilderness as Israel is called in Acts 7:38 b. instead of drawing near to God in as a holy nation, a kingdom of priests to Minister to the Lord in worship (1) Ex 19:18 tells us they stood afar off (2) Ex 19: 19 tells us they did not want God speaking directly to them (a) Thus rejecting their call as a nation of priests B. Where Israel failed as a nation of priests, God is fulfilling thru a spiritual nation Called the Born Again Church 1. 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 2. Instead of being called to worship at Mt Sinai / Mountain of the Law. We are Called as a holy nation to worship at Mt Zion / the mountain of God s gift of Grace: a. Heb 12:22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 3. But do we have ears to hear the trumpet blast. The call to assemble at the Local Church a. Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching. 4. Do we have the spiritual ears to hear the trumpet blast to bring our spiritual sacrifices unto God at home & in the House of The Lord. and as priests of God minister unto The Lord in praise & worship?

a. Heb 13:15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. 5. Do we have ears to hear that trumpet blast to assemble at the House of The Lord To bring our anointing that rests upon our life to contribute to the Corporate Anointing which accomplishes far more in the spirit realm? a. Lev 26:8 Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you. 6. Do we have ears to hear the trumpet blast for the call to assemble at the local Church and bring our spiritual gifts and talents to contribute in fulfilling the Work of the ministry: a. 1 Cor 14:12 Even so you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, let it be for the edification of the church that you seek to excel. b. 2 Tim 4:5 fulfill your ministry 7. Or will we turn a deaf ear to the sound of the strumpet to assemble as a church like Israel reject our priestly calling and stand afar off a. and bury our gifts & talents b. & forsake the assembling of ourselves together in the local church 8. Are my ears only tuned into the trumpet blasts of attending the assemblies & Activities the World has to offer? a. Have I my ears to the point of only worshipping at the altar of (1) altar of self (2) altar of flesh (3) altar of the cares & riches of this world IV. The Trumpets were sounded to announce advancement and new direction God was Leading the Church in the wilderness to go in: A. Num 10:5 When you sound the advance, the camps that lie on the east side shall then begin their journey. 6 When you sound the advance the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side shall begin their journey; they shall sound the call for them to begin their journeys. 1. When the Glory Cloud or Pillar of fire began to move, Moses would sound the Trumpet of advance (Def Alarm) to keep the people of God in step with the Leading of The Lord 2. The Pastor of the Local Church is to do the same: sound the advancement / alarm Of fresh directing & leading of The Lord to the congregation through the trumpet blast of their voice:

a. But if you do not have ears to hear this trumpet blast due to: (1) becoming comfortable where you are (2) or become set in you ways, habits & traditions of man (3) or simply not in attendance.. (a) You will miss out on the New Thing God is about to do (1) Isa 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness 3. This is why it is difficult for believers who have left the church for a season & then come back or are not consistent in attending church find it difficult to relate to the church upon their return: a. Because they expect to find the church where they were b. and not realize that a trumpet advancement of advancing was sounded by Pastor: (1) advancing the Kingdom of God (2) advancing the work of the ministry (3) advancement toward the churches corporate destiny (4) advancement in fulfilling the Vision God has given to the pastor IV. The Trumpet blast of being called to war / spiritual warfare: Can we hear the trumpet blast when Pastor calls the church to do battle against The powers of darkness? A Num 10:9 "When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies. 1. Jer 4:19 The sound of the trumpet, The alarm of war. 2. Can you hear & discern the trumpet blast for spiritual warfare? a. Do you respond dressed for battle in the Whole Armor of God (1) Eph 6:11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand Against the wiles / schemes of the devil (2) Do you raise up that Shield of faith according to Eph 6:16 with which you Will be able to quench the fiery darts of the wicked one b. Do you show up for prayer meeting according to Eph 6:18 praying with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit / DWELL c. Do you respond to the trumpet blast for spiritual warfare and according to Eph 6:17 taking the Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God (1) The speaking & declaring the Word of God (2) and also declaring the prophetic words spoken over your life & church: (a) 1 Tim 1:18 according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare,

B. Judg 7:15 And so it was, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream and its interpretation, that he worshiped. He returned to the camp of Israel, and said, "Arise, for the Lord has delivered the camp of Midian into your hand." 16 Then he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet into every man's hand, with empty pitchers, and torches inside the pitchers. 17 And he said to them, "Look at me and do likewise; watch, and when I come to the edge of the camp you shall do as I do: 18 When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you also blow the trumpets on every side of the whole camp, and say, 'The sword of the Lord and of Gideon!'" 19 So Gideon and the hundred men who were with him came to the outpost of the camp at the beginning of the middle watch, just as they had posted the watch; and they blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers that were in their hands. 20 Then the three companies blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers they held the torches in their left hands and the trumpets in their right hands for blowing and they cried, "The sword of the Lord and of Gideon! 1. vs 16 he (Gideon) put a trumpet into every man s hand a. Gideon. As also every Pastor should also do. Put a trumpet into the hand of everyone b. Causing them to understand everyone in Gideon s army was called to war c. Just as every Believer when saved / Born Again has been enlisted as a soldier in the army of The Lord by Jesus Christ (2 Tim 2:4) d. It is not just the Pastor who should be sounding the alarm & going to war against the powers of darkness: (1) 18 When I blow the trumpet, I and all who are with me, then you also blow The trumpets on every side of the whole camp, and say, 'The sword of the Lord and of Gideon! 2. vs 16 The empty pitchers are a type & shadow of an individual / person a. vs 16 and is to place a torch inside the picture: (1) The torch is a prophetic picture of The Fire of God in the believer who is Baptized in the Holy Ghost: (a) Acts 2:3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

(2) The torch is a prophetic picture of the Word of God burning in the heart Of the believer (a) Jer 20:9 But His word was in my heart like a burning fire (3) The torch is a picture of the Light of Jesus Christ within the believer (a) Matt 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 3. Next we find the key for victory in Spiritual warfare: Brokeness Vs 19 they blew the trumpets and broke the pitchers that were in their hands a. Broken Pitchers are a type and shadow of a Broken Believer / a Surrendered believer, who has crucified the flesh b. Victory in spiritual warfare only manifest in the lives of Broken Believers who have learned to walk in the Spirit : Gal 5:25 c. If you remain a carnal believer it hinders the light of Jesus Christ from shining in and thru your life (1) Matt 5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. (a) in scripture our spirit man is compared to a candle: (1) Prov 20:27 The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord, (b) The lit Candle in Matt 5:15 & Prv 20:27 is a picture of our Born Again spirit man the bushel is a picture of the flesh & carnal nature (1) We are not to allow our carnal nature to hide or even put out the light Of Jesus Christ in our life (2) but as Broken Pitchers / Broken vessels: allow the light of Jesus Christ To shine thru us (a) Does the world see The Light of Jesus shining thru your life as a Witness unto them (b) When you use your spiritual weapons in the midst of spiritual warfare (1) When you speak the Name of Jesus (2) when you declare the word of God (3) when you bind & loose (a) do the powers of darkness look at you and see: (1) a bushel your carnal nature hiding your light / your fleshly nature hiding the light Of Jesus Christ in you (2) or do they see your spirit man shining with the Light of Jesus / the Glory of God, releasing the victory in the midst of the battles of life

V. In the Gospels of Matthew & Luke six times Jesus says: A. Mark 4:9 "He who has ears to hear, let him hear." B. Seven times in the book of Revelations Jesus said: 1. Rev 2:7 "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. C. Everyone does not have ears to hear the trumpet blast & voice of the Holy Spirit 1. Not even every Christian can hear the trumpets sounding in the spirit realm: a. Heb 5:11 says some Christians have become dull of hearing. D. The condition of our spiritual ears are revealed by: 1. Our commitment level to the sounding of the trumpet to assemble at the House Of God 2. Our commitment level to the trumpet sound of advancing / following the leading of the Holy Spirit & glory of God as a Church / congregation 3. Our commitment level to the trumpet sound of war / spiritual warfare in attacking the kingdom of darkness a. Praying & interceding b. reaching the lost with the Gospel 4. & will especially be revealed when That Trumpet sounds for the Rapture: a. 1 Thess 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words (1) he who has an ear to hear let him hear (a) have your spiritual ears become dull of hearing because of sin, Backslid, lukewarm spiritually (b) Can you hears the trumpets sounding,, and respond accordingly? will you hear that trumpet sound when Jesus returns?
