CHURCH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT FAITH FORMATION NEWS: Karen Hoose, Director of Faith Formation email: khoose@frontiernet.net Fifth Sunday of Easter HOLY TRINITY PARISH FAITH FORMATION NEWS: Cindy Kollar, Faith Formation Coordinator email: ckollar@holytrinityjohnstown.com Faith Formation Classes Week of April 24th Faith Formation classes for Elementary and First Communion end this Sunday. There will be no Youth Ministry classes next Sunday because of the Spring Break but they will resume on May 1st. Emmaus Reunion for all Candidates and Team member s of the Emmaus XVII retreat will be held Sunday, April 24 th from 4:00 P.M.-6:00 P.M. at Spirit Central. On Sunday, May 1st, the Youth Ministry Team will be hosting "Holy Spirit's Got Talent" a talent show for ALL ages! We want to showcase all of the talent that God has given us so please sign up! It doesn't matter if you are 5 or 50, join us for a night of fun and show us your talent! The show will be held in the gym from 6:00 P.M.- 8:00 P.M. This is a Sunday evening so it will take the place of our regular youth ministry classes. Please contact Pam Bray at 725-6902 or Ann Simonson at 848-1986 if you wish to participate. There will be a rehearsal for the talent show on Wednesday, April 27th at 6:00 P.M. in the gym. Youth Mass Next Sunday, May1:Part of Youth Ministry this year is requiring the Youth Ministry teens to come to an 11:00 A.M. mass on the opposite months that they have their teen masses. This Sunday will be one of these masses. Youth will be participating in this mass in music, lecturing, etc. Please welcome our teens or as the Pope likes to call them, our young church. Rehearsal for Confirmation will take place on Sunday, May 1st, directly after the 11:00 A.M. mass. First Communion will be celebrated at Holy Spirit on Sunday, May 8th, at the 11:00 A.M. mass. There will be a rehearsal on Thursday, May 5th, at 6:30 P.M. Congratulations to Michael & Jamie Salvatore for presenting their daughter, Sophia Marie for Baptism at Holy Spirit. Congratulations to Michael & Glenegh Klein for presenting their son, Andrew Glenn for Baptism at Holy Spirit. MOTHER TERESA S CLOSET: Thank you to all of the parishioners of Holy Spirit Church and those here at Holy Trinity who so graciously continue to donate products and money to Mother Teresa s Closet. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. We fill the needs of approximately 80 families each month. Without your donations we could not continue this very worthwhile ministry. Your generosity goes a long way to replenish our shelves. The Outreach Committee First Communion rehearsal will be May 12th at 5:30 P.M. with dinner to follow in the parish hall. First Communion will be May 15th at the 10:30 A.M. Mass. Applications will be available during regular business hours at the parish office beginning Monday, April 18 th. Any high school senior who is an active, participating member of the Holy Trinity Parish and who plans to further his/her education next year, may apply for a Burda Scholar Award. Applications must be submitted to a staff member at the parish office on or before Monday, May 9 th, the day after Mother s Day. The 2016 Bishop s Appeal will be held on the weekend of April 30/May 1, 2016. Next weekend is the 2016 Bishop s Appeal Commitment Sunday. This Appeal supports all of the vital ministries and programs throughout the Diocese of Albany. It is our one opportunity during the year to reach out in support of all the people of God beyond the boundary of our own parishes, Holy Trinity and the Church of the Holy Spirit. Please respond to the Bishop s Appeal by making a pledge that you can pay throughout the year. Your gift directly helps our parishes to pay its share of the important work of the diocese. Let us strive to 100% participation: Not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice. The Sisters of the Holy Spirit will hold their Annual Card Party on Monday, May 2nd at 6:30 P.M. in the parish hall. There will be prizes and refreshments. Admission tickets are $2.50 each. A raffle will be held in conjunction with the card party for a $1.00 donation per ticket. Prizes include $100.00 cash, lottery tree, gift basket, cookie tray and fruit basket. You need not be present to win. Tickets for the card party and raffle are available from members, at the parish office or at the door. Holy Trinity Rosary Society Pie Sale: Thank you to all that purchased pie in support of the Rosary Society. Please remember, pies must be picked up on Saturday, April 30th between 11:00 A.M.-1:00 P.M. in the parish hall.
