The View From the East Greetings from The East Brethren, Our annual Past Master s Night is now in the books. The regular line officers opened the Lodge and after some necessary business the Past Masters took control and raised Brother Lee John Philip. Sitting in the East for the ceremonial work was MWPGM Jack Biggs. PM Merrill Brunson in the West and PM Morris Bohlayer in the South. (See the photograph in this bulletin for a list of all the Past Masters and their positions) Our Past Masters were spot on in their work and only the most studied ritualist would have picked up any errors. Without a doubt our newly raised Brother had a treat experiencing their work. I wish to thank all of the Past Masters who took the time to practice and make this a great night. In the Lodge; however, the degree work is nowhere near complete. As of this writing we will be passing to Fellowcraft two Brothers on October 18 th and we will be initiating as Entered Apprentice four men on November 1 st. I ask all Charity Brothers to please try and come to the Lodge on November 1 st. We need you to greet our new members and give them a positive impression of their new experiences. The November 1 st meeting will be held in the 1 st Degree. Normal Masonic dress code applies. Dinner will be at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting promptly at 7:30 p.m. The Lodge extends their sympathy to the family of Brother John Walter who passed to the Celestial Lodge above on October 4, 2017 There are ten (10) 30oz stainless 150 th Anniversary Tumblers left for sale at $20 each for members and $25 to nonmembers. As I have written before when they are gone, they are gone. See Photo in ad section Sincerely & Fraternally Roy Neal Worshipful Master 2017
Looking to the West Greetings From the West Brethren- We saw many friends and Brothers at Harvest Home. If you missed out on coming you also missed a great day. Past Master s Night was one of the better that we have had in a long time and the Past Masters did a fine job I congratulate Brother Lee Philip on being made a Master Mason and hope that in his travels as a concert bass player he gets to visit many different Lodges. You really need to get to the Lodge if you have not been there in a while. The building looks great again and the fellowship abounds. Our next meeting is November 1 and we will initiate four new members and we need you there. Fraternally yours, Jay D. Brown, Senior Warden From the South Greetings Brethren from the South, We had a wonderful Past Masters night on Saturday, October the 14th. Our past masters conducted a Third Degree ritual to raise Brother Lee Philip to the sublime degree. If you missed the meeting then you missed some excellent floor work. Thanks to the Past Masters! I think they can still teach us a thing or two. I would like to congratulate Bro. Philip on being raised as well as on his excellent Fellowcraft catechism proficiency. I would also like to thank Bro. Cliff Baker for preparing a delicious and filling meal. Thanks also to all of our Charity brothers who helped out at Harvest Home. We had some beautiful weather for the event. I encourage all who can, to come out for our meeting on November 1 st. Our EA candidates are back after helping to restore power down in hurricane-hit Florida, and we will be initiating them into the fraternity. Let's give them a good welcome into Masonry! Fraternally yours, Jeff Westra, Junior Warden
From the Secretary s Desk Dues Notices The 2018 Worshipful Master s letter and dues notice will be mailed on November first. Please remember that your dues are due January 1, 2018 and not at the end of the year. Fortunately, or unfortunately, there are only four Brothers who have not met their obligations for 2017. Brothers please get me your checks, it is unfortunate when a Brother is automatically suspended for non-payment of dues. Thanks to those of you who have given to support the Lodge s maintenance, work or the scholarships. These voluntary gifts help greatly. It was great this year to give a meaningful $1,500 scholarship to a student from Hereford High. Those of us attending Harvest Home Day enjoyed great weather and fantastic fellowship. Brother Gordon Clisham and his crew of sausage chefs made sure that there was enough for all. And we had 36 members in attendance. The best turn -out in a while. If you have any questions about your dues, please call me at 410.785.3130. Sincerely & Fraternally W. Miles Cole Secretary Masonic Birthdays NOVEMBER Mahlon W. Hessey, PM 11/28/1950 Gregory B.
