Brian Welch's Testimony (KORN) - posted by Talkn2u, on: 2007/7/16 12:34 Brian gave his testimony... I wanted to see for myself; and I will tell you, that it was a most blessed evening... I could just stop and weep and rejoice all at the same time... The humility that came out of that young man, captured my skeptic heart and softened me. There was no "pretense" no "quest" for attention on himself... If you had been there and witnessed what I witnessed you would agree...his conversion was for Real... A few things that made that clear was... 1. His opening prayer, was so precious, so humble, so from the heart of one who has recognized the gift of forgiveness and grace. 2. He said that since he has given his life to Christ; life has been more difficult in many ways, but he said that he talks wi th the Lord and is very honest with Him and PRESSES in to Him...and God brings upon him a Peace that he cannot expl ain...and gives him the wisdom and the strength to face the obstacles. 3. He had a choice to make: a 20 million dollar contract, or walk away and choose Christ. He chose Christ...He left the band at a time when his career was at its height... 4. Before he prayed for the congregation last night, at dismissal, he was straightforward with them and emphasized the i mportance of developing a prayer life. That if they don't continually communicate with God, then they will not make it. My description of last evening is so weak in comparison of the awesome Presence of God that covered that building last night. Many will have their opinions...but I must tell you I walked in a big skeptic, but my heart melted and my spirit rejoiced to see that God was Glorified, Jesus was Lifted Up and the Holy Spirit was working on the hearts and lives of the thousand s of people captivated by the evidence of what God's Power can do in a life that appears to be hopeless... I wish you all could have been there to experience this. My spirit is very sensitive to if Jesus is being lifted up vs man be ing lifted up...jesus WAS HIGH AND LIFTED UP, in that young man's conversion. Praise His Holy Name... Re: Brian Welch's Testimony (KORN) - posted by Compton (), on: 2007/7/16 13:02 Awesome. I am thankful for this brother. He loved not his life, even when faced with a ton of money. He loves the Lord, and he loves his little girl. May he grow mightily in the Lord. (http://www.headtochrist.com/) Brian's Website... MC Page 1/5

The light of the eyes rejoiceth the heart; and a good report maketh the bones fat. Proverbs 15:30 Re: - posted by Talkn2u, on: 2007/7/16 13:48 Thank you for sharing the website. Apparently his book has been sold out in many places. Phx First (where he spoke la st night) was able to obtain a shipment of the books...however, they too sold out before the service was over. Brian's love for the Lord, and his love for his daughter is encouraging to see. Thank you once again... Re: - posted by Talkn2u, on: 2007/7/16 13:49 BrokenOne... I was scrolling to find your name, I wanted to let you know how it was...and there you were!!! :-) Re:, on: 2007/7/16 15:53 This is an encouraging article. Personally, if he would ask me for advice I would recommend he lose the nickname... His CD should be interesting. Looking forward to hearing it. Re: - posted by Talkn2u, on: 2007/7/16 21:19 I agree with you,. And also the "look" he has is still the same outwardly; but it just doesn't seem to match the gen tle spirit that is clearly seen in his eyes. I believe that in time, those "old things" will be put away... God is Faithful to complete that which He has started... Re:, on: 2007/7/16 22:37 All blacks and reds and greys on the website... Bloody H and C on either side of a bloody Cross that looks more like a dagger than a cross... I got the worst vibe ever from this site. Re:, on: 2007/7/17 7:53 And also the "look" he has is still the same outwardly; but it just doesn't seem to match the gentle spirit that is clearly seen in his ey es. As we grow God progressively changes us. I think God has really gotten a hold on this guy, and it's wonderful to see. Re ading the interview there is a lot of spiritual immaturity, which is fine... thats to be expected. At the same time, I think the Lord is going to use him to reach a culture of people that someone like me just isnt going to be able to reach. Page 2/5
Just the fact that his book is flying off the bookshelves shows that God is at work. Most Christian have no idea who he is, so I suspect a lot of the people buying this book are KORN fans, and not granny in the pew behind me. Re: - posted by Talkn2u, on: 2007/7/17 10:45 I had absolutely NO idea who he was...so yep, you are right...i would not be the little granny running to the bookstore for the copy I just "have to have" hee hee... :-P I so appreciate the spirit in which your reply was made,. Thank you! B. Re: - posted by Lotis (), on: 2007/7/17 11:17 Awesome. Thanks for sharing your experience. :D Re:, on: 2007/7/17 13:51 said Just the fact that his book is flying off the bookshelves shows that God is at work. I find the fact that his books are "flying off the bookshelves" no more indicative of God's handywork than Tim Lahay's Lef t Behind series. "Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets." (LUKE 6:26) Jesus was not popular. God is not popular. "Because strait the gate, and narrow the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it." (MATT 7:14) No offense. Re: - posted by Lotis (), on: 2007/7/17 14:10 Jesus was popular with the lost and the needy, but not so much with the "righteous". Would you rather see less people i nterested in Jesus and what he can do in someones life? Does the fact people are interested in God make those versus any less true? Does the fact that his book is spoken well of mean he is a false prophet or false convert? Certainly not. Gi ve him room to grow, hes new to the kingdom. I for one think its awesome these books are selling, I find it hard to believ e anyone force but God would be interested in getting such a testimony into people's hands. Re:, on: 2007/7/17 15:36 No offense. None taken... The difference between this book and Tim LaHaye's book is that this is an autobiography... a testimony of how Brian ca me to Christ after years of drug and alcohol abuse. And who is reading this? Probably not most church goers. This is bei ng read by a lot of people who were fans of his before his conversion. Page 3/5
I agree with what you said, however I think you're missing the point. If a popular preacher's books is a best seller, I wond er why. When someone's testimony is a best seller, I say hallelujah! I hope you will share in the joy of that, Corey, instead of being critical. No offense... ;-) Does anybody remember MA$E? - posted by Santana (), on: 2007/7/17 16:33 Hate to get off the subject but does anybody remember MA$E? He was a rapper with Biggie and Puff Daddy and then g ot saved through a dream. He then became known as Pastor Mason Betha. I read his book and saw him speak and it w as very powerful because it's somebody I used to idolize in the Hip-Hop world. I believe he truly got saved...but then a man by the name of Creflo Dollar picked him up quick and took him under his wi ng. Anyways, after 5 years, he went back to Hip-Hop because God told him to. His first album was called "Welcome Back" and then he signed with 50cent and now I haven't heard from him since. Does anybody know the story to that? (It's a shame that these born-again celebrities won't catch a break from so called Christians.) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ma$e Re: Does anybody remember MA$E?, on: 2007/7/17 16:40 Creflo Dollar... I tell ya... on the great and terrible day of the Lord the WOF preachers are gonna have a lot to answer for. What an appr opriate last name Creflo has... Re:, on: 2007/7/17 16:47 Here is his website: http://www.masonbetha.org/ There are sermons online, but if he has been influenced by Creflo Dollar and his ilk, I would not recommend you bother l istening to him preach. It'll be WOF thru and thru....and no, I'm definately not a fan of rap/hip-hop. I heard enough Public Enemy, Dr Dre, etc when I was in the Marines. D ont care if I ever hear another rap song. Re: - posted by Santana (), on: 2007/7/17 17:02 I actually hate Rap/hip-hop and everything they stand for. "I once was blind but now I see." Death Metal/acid rock/hip-hop/heavy Metal...what a demonic religion! Page 4/5
Re:, on: 2007/7/17 17:11 I hope you will share in the joy of that, Corey, instead of being critical. I might. If he lazers off all those awful tattoos......and changes his website's satanic design......and ceases to wear mascara... IMMEDIATELY......etc... Not to be critical or anything. Re: - posted by Santana (), on: 2007/7/17 17:21 I don't believe he needs to laser off the tattoo's but I agree with the other things. Re: Brian Welch's Testimony (KORN), on: 2007/7/17 17:46 I don't listen to much rock, country or pop music any more but I would guess this guy must have been well a known reco rding artist. It is great to hear and he will have many battles ahead but" he who began a good work in him will be able to finish what he started". He may get his legs striped a few times. How do I know that? huh Re: - posted by Santana (), on: 2007/7/17 17:53 Let's not forget he is a baby. Do we expect babies to walk and talk like us grown ups? I do agree that when God gets a hold of a man, certain things just fall off but other things will take some time. Page 5/5
